Police detained one man during a snap raid at the upper St Andrew residence of dancehall entertainer Aidonia, whose given name is Sheldon Lawrence. One source said that one man was detained as the police claimed that they were checking the individual for “outstanding warrants” against his name.

Armed lawmen presented a signed warrant at about 5 a.m to the home owners – Aidonia and his wife — before the sleuthhounds thoroughly searched the entertainer’s home. Nothing illegal was found on the premises. However, the police officers detained a relative who was whisked off to the Constant Spring Police Station.

According to Aidonia’s brother and manager, Lav “Lalo” Lawrence, the detainment was purely procedural.

“No one was arrested, nothing illegal was found. One family member was taken by the police to the station to check if there were any infractions against him, that’s it,” Lawrence clarified in a statement to his publicist.

The cops conducted a number of simultaneous operations targeting individuals suspected of involvement in criminal activities and the alleged possession of illegal firearms.
