Lisa Hyper Ordered To Return To Court In September

Dancehall star Lisa Hyper will have to wait until September 10th to know her fate as her matter was postponed when she appeared in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court to answer charges of disorderly conduct recently.

The matter was postponed because there was an outstanding document.

“The court hasn’t yet received my medical file from the authorities from Ward 21 at UHWI, so that the judge can make a determination on how to settle this matter,” Lisa Hyper, whose real name is Felicia Gooden, said.

Lisa Hyper has been in the news a lot recently because of her mental health challenges which have triggered a number of legal entanglements including a trespassing case in Florida, a bench warrant issued in Kingston for missing a court hearing and the aforementioned charges of disorderly conduct.

Lisa Hyper, formerly known as the ‘First Lady of Gaza’, has been a major figure in Vybz Kartel’s Portmore Empire. She will be turning her attention towards her music and the promotion of her new seven-song EP, titled The Golden Fleece, which will be released in July.

The EP will feature collaborative songs such as ‘Live the Life’ featuring Eddy G, and ‘The Golden Fleece’ featuring Rajah Wild. The EP will also feature singles such as Hard Drive, Self Love, Buck Up Pon God and Soul Cry where she addresses her mental health issues.

Some of the labels contributing to the EP include Ivey League Productions, Hard Drive, Knackout Productions, Double R Records and Levels Production.

She disclosed that there will be a November release date for her new album, titled Phoenix.

As part of her journey back, Lisa Hyper plans to launch the Gooden Foundation for Mental Health and Down’s Syndrome. The Soul Cry singer has appealed to persons with mental health challenges to follow the advice of professionals.

Noting that she is ready for live performances, Lisa Hyper stated that she is booked and busy. She said her gigs include a series of shows in Canada, as well as an upcoming event with Bounty Killer and Richie Spice.

She is known for songs such as Champion Bubbler, Bills featuring Gaza Kim, Sculpture and Nuh Frighten.
