Minister Marion Hall has acquired a church building for her Holy Ghost Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ.

The gospel artist, formerly dancehall juggernaut Lady Saw, shared the address with her online congregation during her Wednesday sermon.

The church is situated at the University Commons shopping plaza in Tamarac, Florida, more specifically, “6702-6852 North University Drive,” said Hall while gleefully flashing her lease agreement.

She was initially hesitant about releasing the address as the church was not yet opened.  “When the enemy a plot and plan, dem do all kinds of things to fight you, but I sign it (the lease) already, dem cya do nothing,” she said.

The feat has been a long time coming. The Sorry to Hurt Your Feelings singjay received mixed responses after launching a US$2-million GoFundMe campaign last August in aid of acquiring a church building.

Hall, who joined Christendom in 2015, founded the Holy Ghost Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ in 2020. The church has been streaming live from her social media on Wednesdays (prayers and fasting) and Sundays (church service) ever since.

In September, she announced a concert series titled ‘A Seed of Faith’ to raise funds for her desired church building. In the interim, she founded a temporary building at Spring Tree Plaza in Sunrise, Florida, and later closed the GoFundMe campaign.

Hall launched a new campaign last week, this time with a US$50,000 goal to add the finishing touches to the new space.

A glimpse at Minister Marion Hall’s new church space in Florida.

“Holy Ghost Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ and Minister Marion Hall are very excited to announce to you all that we have now acquired a space for our congregation and visitors to join us for Sunday worship, Wednesday prayers and fasting service, Bible study’s, and Sunday school,” the description from the campaign read.

“We have also obtain all these musical instruments but are in need of $50,000 for buying material and paying construction workers to do all the necessary work to accommodate members and visitors alike. Your contribution will also go towards the purchasing of chairs, lights, bathrooms, kitchenette, and a small office space for pastors when visiting. We believe 50,000 will cover the cost of all the above. We thank you for your donation in Jesus name.”

The I’m Doing Better artist said it wasn’t the targeted building, but rejoiced in its proximity to 1,200 multi-family and hotel units, boosting the possibility of preaching to more people. The complex is also home to popular spots like Dunkin’ Donuts, Yolo Korean BBQ and Quince Supermarket.

“Holy Ghost Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ in Florida; that’s where it’s gonna start, but I know God is gonna do an expansion on His time.”

Hall became an ordained evangelist in 2018 at the Emmanuel Apostolic Church in Kingston, where she had previously been baptised. Her contemporaries Goddy Goddy and Ryan Mark have also established their own churches.
