For the seventh time, Jamaican singer Koffee has proven to be a standout act of former President of the United States Barack Obama.

The Grammy Kid’s 2022 track Pull Up was named on Obama’s favourite music of 2022 playlist on Friday (December 23).

“I always enjoy sharing my end of year music playlist with all of you —and this year we heard a lot of great songs. Here are some of my favorites. Are there songs or artists I should check out?” He captioned the list of 25 songs which also includes Burna Boy’s Last Last, Rema’s Calm Down, Sza’s Shirt, and Arya Starr’s Rush.

Pull Up, from Koffee’s debut album Gifted, had also made the former President’s summer playlist.

Produced by JAE5, the song’s KC Locke-directed music video has picked up over 10 million views on YouTube since it was released in February 2022.

Koffee performed the single on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon later that month.

Much to her delight, she has received a Grammy nod for the album, and goes up against Shaggy (Come Fly Wid Mi), Sean Paul (Scorcha), Protoje (Third Time’s The Charm) and Kabaka Pyramid (The Kalling).

The 22-year-old, who has been on Rihanna, Kyle Jenner, and Michelle Obama’s playlists, has remained on Obama’s radar over the last three years.

She made his Summer Playlist in 2021 for her collab with Protoje on Switch It Up, but did not secure a spot on his Favourite Music Of 2021 list, which included Spice, Shaggy and Sean Paul.

In 2020, Obama’s Summer Playlist included John Legend’s Don’t Walk Away featuring Koffee, while his Favourite Music Of 2020 list included Koffee’s Repeat collab with J Hus.

In 2019, Toast made both Obama’s Summer Playlist and Favourite Music list that year.

Koffee just wrapped up the Latin American leg of the Love On Tour spearheaded by Harry Styles. The two performed in Peru, Buenos Aires, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Curitiba.
