Jamaican singer Shenseea marks her 26th birthday today, October 1. From international gigs, to brand endorsement deals and of course, collaborating with musical big wigs from all over the globe, here’s a look back at the Blessed singer’s year in photos.
November 2021
Shenseea shared the news that four projects that she contributed to received Grammy nomination nods. These were Kanye West’s Donda in the Album of the Year and Best Rap album categories, Masego’s Studying Abroad: Extended Stay for Best Progressive R&B Album and Major Lazor’s Music Is The Weapon in the Best Dance/ Electronic Music category. However, she was only nominated for Donda.

December 2021
After a long year of hard work, the Blessed singer posted these photos acknowledging her grind. She reiterated what it means to be beautiful, but dedicated and successful. As she put it: “Me Hustle Hard like ghetto yutes downtown 🍃”
January 2022
The Shenyeng princess raised havoc when she teased with the cover art for her Megan Thee Stallion collab—Lick. When it was finally released, many tongues were sent wagging about the raunchy lyrics which glorify oral sex being performed on women. Lick went on to form part of her debut album. Whether it was negative or positive reviews, the entertainer got everyone talking. Mission accomplished!

In February, she shared another photo which sent social media users into a frenzy. This shot was used to tease the release of R U That which features 21 Savage. The admiration from the four male models screamed “all hail Queen Shenyeng!”

Her long-awaited album Alpha—dropped on March 11. Countless shoots were done to promote her first compilation, and it’s safe to say they were effective. This was perhaps one of the biggest moments during her 25th journey around the sun. The project, released via Rich Immigrants/Interscope Records, debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart.

Shenseea picked up a plaque after Blessed struck gold in Canada. This was indeed a proud moment for her, even though at that time she had to postpone some Canadian gigs due to issues with her voice.
