Mavado gave new-gen artist Skeng the stamp of approval when they met up in Trinidad over the weekend for their performances at the Life the Concert.

The Gully God and Ratty Gang star were the headlining Dancehall acts at the Queen’s Park Savannah-held event with a cast of other TT artistes, including Tempa, Nessa Preppy, Trinidad Killa, Lady Lava, and more.

In the video circulating online, Mavado and Skeng appeared to be meeting for the first time. As they exchanged a firm hand-lock, the Gullyside veteran told Skeng, “Mi love how yah deal wid it enuh, dawg. Mad.”

The Protocol artist, who seemed evidently overjoyed by the recognition, responded to say, “Mi and yuh ago wull a reason enuh,” to which Mavado agreed.

Dancehall fans couldn’t have been happier to see the unity shared between the two entertainers. Among the outpouring of comments, one person said, “All love 🇯🇲💯🔥 that’s truth and respect in its purest 🙏🏾. Another agreed, “BOMBOCLATT!! Love Fi See Dahht yooo. 😭😭💪❤🔥 … Love n Respect!! #MadLinkUp!!”

“This how you elevate and encourage the up coming artiste🔥🔥🔥🔥,” said another.

Other excited fans were hoping this was the initiation of a possible musical collaboration. “I think we going to get a collab of out of that reasoning,” commented one person.

In the meantime, Skeng, who has declared himself the “Beast Of The Era,” indicated last week that his debut EP is fast approaching. After making headlines with his recent collaboration with rap queen, Nicki Minaj on the Likkle Miss remix, fans are excited to see what surprises the new collection will bring.

Mavado, who also has a mega-hit track with Minaj (Give It All To Me in 2013) is in ‘album-mode’ prepping to release a new body of work soon, according to Music executive Julian Jones-Griffith.
