E-Syde Queen Jada Kingdom served up her Dancehall-infused R&B EP, New Motion on Friday, June 17.  Just in time for the summer, the 4-track set via Money Well Spent and Republic Records features the recently released Last Night and Dickmatized and two new bangers, Fling It Back and Next Time.

New Motion EP is her first official project since signing to Republic Records, and with a mere 4 tracks, it sums up her experiences with trauma, relationships, and love. She spins these narratives on infectious harmonies and head-bopping hooks for an indulging listening experience.

Fling It Back, which samples some bars and melody from Leftside and Esco’s Tuck In U Belly (2005), is produced by Philip “DJ Hardwerk” Constable (Camila Cabello, Cardi B, Fergie, Sean Paul), and arrived with new visuals courtesy of Effy Kawira upon the EP’s launch yesterday—all of which are giving classic Dancehall vibes.

On Instagram, Jada revealed that not only was the music video for Fling It Back shot a year ago but the song—written by herself, Verse Simmonds and DJ Hardwerk—was also recorded two years ago.

Next Time, the other new song on the set, was produced by Stephen ‘Di Genius’ McGregor.

Jada kicked off the EP with the May 20-released Last Night, which was also produced by Di Genius and includes a subtle tribute to Dave Kelly’s Bruk Out Riddim (1999).

The ultra-sexy Dickmatized, another Di Genius production with Ayo Rodey, dropped back in March and now sits at over 1.8 million YouTube views.

The Bull Bay native describes the EP as an expression of her true feelings and her attitude towards overcoming adversities.

“My new EP New Motion reveals raw, uncut feelings – it expresses my desire to intentionally move forward always regardless of the trials and tribulations I’ve faced,” she said. “It’s about never forgetting to be true to myself while also having fun and creating a safe space for people who are going through similar situations.”

The EP and Fling It Back are already raking in rave reviews from the fans.

“Jada you step out pon this eno! The lyrics, the riddim, the visual🤌🏾 🔥. You have a hit on your hands! I hope this gives you the mainstream/international buzz that you’re deserving of!” said one fan.

Others commented, “Jada Kingdom back again with a Smash Hit, Fling It Back, you never disappoint your fans with great music keep up the good work,” and “I love this. It’s giving something new from her style that she does.”
