Pardison “Pardi” Fontaine seems ready for a remake of Dancehall duo Leftside & Esco’s classic hit song, Tuck In U Belly.  The New York rapper, who’s currently dating Megan Thee Stallion, shared a clip of the Jamaican duo’s music video on Instagram earlier this week, asserting that they were “wild” for composing, producing, and releasing what some have described as a body-shaming track almost twenty years ago.

“Yooo these n-ggas was wild for this 😂😂😂😂,” Pardi captioned the clip. Noting the track’s popularity back then, he added “This dead used to come on in partys.”

Released in 2005 on the Throw Back Giggy riddim, Tuck In U Belly was an uncouth yet hilarious PSA to “bang belly” females that they should lose a few inches around their midsection.  The two deejays even referred to fellow artists Tami Chin and Kris Kelly, who both made cameos in the video, as “flat belly” specimens to emulate.

Leftside & Esco had produced the Throw Back Giggy riddim, which took inspiration from Steely & Clevie’s 1991 Giggy riddim (Ting A Ling, Kill The B-tch, etc).  In addition to Tuck In Yuh Belly, Throw Back also featured songs such as Buju Banton‘s Me Too Bad, Vybz Kartel‘s Tight P-ssy Gal DemElephant Man’s Play Hard Fi Get, and Ce’Cile’s Hot Like That.

Several of Pardi’s followers not only knew the track but admitted, “1st of ALL… BIG CHUNE!!!!!!!!” as one fan noted. Another agreed, “Big chunneeee 🇯🇲 😂🔥” while one female said, “And I will still bruk out, even with my belly ba[n]g over like shirt 😂.”

Rapper Cardi B, who has collaborated with Pardi on the tracks Backin’ It Up and Too Good, quipped that the song fit well with late and controversial YouTuber Kevin Samuels, who was known for his toxic and misogynistic views on black women and dating.  “This Kevin Samuels song,” she commented, to which Pardi responded: “Nah 😂 😂 don’t put that on him.”

Three hours and over a 100k views later, Leftside admitted that he was still catching heat for the body-shaming track.  “Yep. I’m still getting heat for singing this song,” he wrote, tagging his collaborator Esco, before adding, “Watch ya”.

Pardi replied letting Leftside know he may just have to bring back the hit track, “@leftsideja we might have to run this back” he said.  Up for the challenge, Leftside answered, “Ready Mi G”.

The Phat Punani deejay later re-shared a screenshot of Pardi’s post with the caption, “Yoyo. @pardi bless up for the post. @iamcardib comment have me rolling. Classic. #TuckInYuhBelly. @escodashocker we made a classic song Mi G. #Lookaround”

Leftside, aka Mr. Evil has gained much success as a Dancehall artist and producer of his own music and others in the industry. The hitmaker’s classics have been sampled and remixed several times and while Pardi has publicly called for a ‘run back’ on Tuck In U Belly, fellow New York rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine surprised fans in 2020 when he took Mr. Evil’s Phat Punani song for a spin.

The Dummy Boy rapper made headlines when he dropped his single Punani shortly after his release from jail. The track heavily sampled the riddim and lyrics of Leftside’s Phat Punani (2010).

Showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon, Leftside has been keeping pretty current on the music scene. His latest single Road dropped earlier this month, watch it here:
