Rising Jamaican artist Stalk Ashley has reminded fans that she, nor the members of her entourage will take any form of assault lightly. This comes after a male fan was thrown off the stage during her performance over the weekend as he attempted to whine on her.

As the 30-second clip made rounds on social media on Sunday, the Summer 16 singer was tight-lipped, before finally breaking her silence on the bizarre incident later that night.

“Stalk Ashley not Assault Ashley,” she tweeted.

In the video, that most seemed to have found funny, Stalk Ashley, 23, is seen performing her track Young, to an engaged audience at an outside venue. In a split second, a male, who appeared to be holding a drink in his left hand made his way on stage, and positioned himself behind her to ‘whine her.’

At first, her attention remained on the crowd, however, she was tilted forward when a man from her team kicked the fan. This immediately interrupted the set, and shortly after the overzealous patron was thrown off stage—the impact of his fall echoing.

While many social media users have reacted to the incident with laughing emojis, some are sympathetic to the man that was physically harmed.

“I actually think the security on Stalk Ashley’s state did way too much. That man could have easily been dead,” tweeted @dareal_MJ.

“Girl nobody assaulted you! You need to address the situation because that man could’ve lost his life! Smh @Stalk_Ashley” added @Zara58480898 to the discourse.

Most others seemed to be in agreement with the extreme reaction.  “I have weird internal over protectiveness of Stalk Ashley so yeah I don’t mind that the guy got pushed off the stage,” said @Boonsterboon.

Stalk Ashley released her latest single, As A BadGyal on Friday, May 13.

Talibhan, her collaboration with Dancehall deejay Skeng is on its way to six million views, after the official music video was released almost two months ago.
