Dancehall deejay Skillibeng quickly pulled his new single, Love Handles, after he received backlash for dissing Shenseea in the track.

In what were the opening lines of the supposed love song, the Crocodile Teeth deejay professed to his boo that: “Mi will dead fi yuh, You nuh have ten man ah touch you one time like Shenseea…”

Edit: The video was restored to YouTube today (February 17).  The original story continues below.

Many fans expressed their shock at Skillibeng’s unnecessary diss towards the Shenyeng princess, and within a matter of hours, the audio track was removed from the deejay’s official YouTube page after it was posted yesterday.  An unofficial upload is still available.

It appears Shenseea’s latest Instagram posts may have inspired Skillibeng’s unbefitting jab.

On Tuesday, the Blessed singer shared a few photos to promote her newest single RU That, featuring Atlanta-based rapper 21 Savage. In one of the shots, Shen is laid up by the poolside and surrounded by four gentlemen. As one kissed her hand, another was sucking on her toes while the others gazed lustfully in her direction.

That was apparently enough ammunition for the Brik Pon Brik deejay to create his rhymes – which he evidently wrote within 24 hours to release the song the following day.

Since removed, the song hasn’t quite received the full brunt of the fans’ reaction, but those who caught wind of its content have so far expressed mixed feelings.

“Good song, good melody, up deh Skilli,” said one supporter. Another added, “My artist eno no matter what😂😂🔥🔥.”

Confusion ensued for others. “Romantic gangster 😂😂😂😂 wtf is this?” said one.

Some people found the track to be utter noise.

“One a di worse song dis mi eva hear from Skilli,” said one person.

One fan said, “Him fall off big time wats up with him, him na medz music good again fall off big time. w[h]ere is the guy that sing Coke come on we need him back.”

“Skill plz tek a break 🙄🙄🙄” another fan urged.

One fan pointed out that the deejay was simply embracing clash culture and there was no ill intent behind the song.

“Di song ave a buzz. This is dancehall anybody can say anything. Shenseea prolly even laugh abt it and Skilli prolly not even care if 100 man touch up Shen. Its just music.”

Still, others wondered why Shenseea got the short end of the stick. “Murdah why him do shenseea dat 🤣”.
