The Grammy Kid Koffee has finally revealed that the name of her debut album will be Gifted.

The Rapture singer made the lowkey announcement while discussing the 360 Reality Audio experience on her YouTube page.  “I just listened to my new single West Indies off my new project, Gifted, in 360 Reality Audio,” the 21-year-old began.

Gifted is expected to be released via RCA Records, this year.

In February, Koffee told Rolling Stone that she wants to focus on the idea of unity in the forthcoming collection.

“I want to speak of a solution and of a way that we can come together and get along, even when things are going wrong,” she said. “Positivity is definitely a theme.”

West Indies was produced by Iotosh with an official video, co-directed by Meji Alabi and Koffee, herself. It featured a slew of West Indian cameos including her mom Jo-Anne Williams, and Reggae and Dancehall artists Prettii Prettii, Leno Banton, Tessellated, Jesse Royal, and Yaksta, and has raked in over 6.9 million views on YouTube.

Since Koffee’s rise to fame, she has not released a collective body of work, besides her 2019 EP Rapture. Exactly two years ago (January 26, 2020) she walked away with the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album for the project.

She is the youngest person (at 19 years old) and the only woman to be awarded in the category.

Koffee was the first female and youngest person to win the Reggae Grammy in 2020.

The EP featured five tracks including the smash hit Toast, which was certified Gold in the UK in January 2021, and the title track Rapture, which was certified Silver in August 2021.  Blazin, Throne, and Raggamuffin were the other three songs on the collection.

Repeat, a collab with British rapper J Hus, was certified Silver in February 2021, while her single W with rapper Gunna was certified Silver in March.

Koffee has found great success on other releases such as Lockdown (61 million views), Pressure and the Pressure Remix featuring Reggae/Dancehall titan Buju Banton (combined 13 million views). She has also collaborated with the likes of Protoje (Switch It Up), and R&B singer John Legend (Don’t Walk Away), both of which were among the Koffee songs selected by US President Obama for his curated lists on five occasions over the last three years.

This year, Koffee also contributed the title track on the official soundtrack for the film The Harder They Fall.

The singer is set to make her Coachella debut come this April.
