Masicka Clears The Air About Perceived Vybz Kartel Diss At Sumfest

Vybz Kartel, Masicka

Following Masicka’s fiery performance at Reggae Sumfest’s Dancehall Night, the Whites artist has dismissed claims that he disrespected Vybz Kartel, suggesting instead that his frustrated remarks were aimed solely at the show’s organizers.

During an Instagram Live on Tuesday, Masicka made it clear that there’s no bad blood between him and Kartel. Addressing MC Nuffy directly as the source of the rumors, Masicka accused him of twisting a minor dispute with the event’s organizers into something more serious.

“Waste man Nuffy a spread propaganda… big up yuh self Vybz Kartel every time,” Masicka said.

During his performance, Masicka had pointedly suggested that he might not return to future stagings of the popular festival due to backstage issues. He also indicated that unknown persons were attempting to ‘style him’.

“Mi caan tek style, mi a bad bwoy,” he declared, while declaring himself the ‘baddest artiste’ on stage. While such statements are not uncommon in dancehall, his remarks drew attention this time due to a notable omission — Masicka made no mention of Vybz Kartel’s recent crowning as the ‘King of Dancehall’ at Reggae Sumfest, nor did he offer any acknowledgment of the Gaza Boss.

Jahshii, who joined Masicka on stage, added fuel to an already explosive situation when he suggested:. “Dem seh crown a gi out but none a dem nuh bad like yuh. Dem nuh bad like yuh shoes lace.”

As expected, these utterances riled up Gaza fans who took his comments as a direct jab at the new King of Dancehall. The response was immediate and fiery, with MC Nuffy—closely associated with Kartel—leading the fusilade of negatives directed at Masicka.

“Likkle hungry belly Jahshii… move yuh bloodcl**t… yuh love follow behind people too much,” Nuffy said.

During his livestream, Masicka claimed that Jahshii may have been a bit intoxicated. “Jahshii under him vibes and come on a seh weh him a seh,” Masicka said, playing down the brouhaha.
