Dancehall artist Jahshii was arrested and charged last night with breaches of the Disaster Risk Management Act after a contingent of cops swooped down on an illegal party in Leeds district, St. Elizabeth last night.

The Corporate Communications Unit, the information arm of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, said that the Cream Of The Crop artist was one of several arrested when the police swooped down on the party.

In an Instagram Story, that was timestamped 12:05AM on New Year’s Day, Jahshii shared a short video clip, seemingly of himself, handcuffed at the Santa Cruz Police Station in St. Elizabeth.

He was granted bail and is set to appear in court on February 14, 2022.

The entertainer is also being investigated in connection with an illegal party in Clarendon, where he reportedly fled when the police arrived.

Earlier this weekend, a producer affiliated with the artist was gunned down by cops after he was fingered as a triggerman in a recent murder.

Jahshii, whose real name is Mluleki Tafari Clarke, has been embroiled in controversy over the last two weeks—ever since he labeled Jamaican police as the epitome of corruption and criticized veteran artists such as Shabba Ranks for being “afraid” of up and coming artists, during an Entertainment Report interview with Anthony Miller on Television Jamaica (TVJ).

In 2016, at age 16, Jahshii entered the wildly popular Unruly Clash hosted by Popcaan and gained recognition as the first runner-up.

He’s now signed to Herah Music Productions (HMP) and has been enjoying breakout success over the last year with tracks such as Keep Up25/8, and Cream Of the Crop with Navaz.
