When Dancehall star Shenseea said she was ‘way too blessed,’ she certainly wasn’t lying. On the heels of her MOBO award for Best Reggae Act, the 25-year-old was named the 2021 Breakout Awards Globetrotter winner on Sunday during LiveXLive’s award show.

“It feels good to be a breakout star because I feel like this is just the beginning. I have so much more planned for myself. I have so much more to come, and to just be recognized for it is truly amazing. That’s what breakout means to me,” the Be Good artist said in her virtual acceptance speech.

“I appreciate you being behind me and supporting me a hundred per cent; from featuring my music on LiveZone, to playing me on Slacker Radio.”

Owned by LiveOne, the yearly LiveXLive Breakout Awards is presented by Hyundai and is geared towards celebrating pop culture.   LiveOne is a global platform for livestream and on-demand audio, video and podcast/vodcast content in music, comedy and pop culture.

Shenseea’s award was presented by 17-year-old TikTok star Sienna Mae Gomez.

The Blessed singer is set to release her debut studio album in early 2022 under Rvssian’s Rich Immigrants label (a joint venture with Interscope Records).  Among her new releases of the year was Run Run—the first single from the still-untitled project, which currently has 6.8 million views on YouTube since its release in July 2021.

On November 23, Shenseea earned a Grammy nomination for Album Of The Year at the upcoming 64th Annual Grammy Awards, following her two features on Kanye West’s Donda album. The songs, Pure Souls with Roddy Rich and Ok Ok Pt.2, peaked at No. 52 and No. 12 respectively, on the Billboard Hot 100 following their release in late August.
