Real Helping Hands, the crowdfunding platform that recently raised funds for dancehall artist Tiger, has stepped in to help drum up funds to help dancehall artist Gully Bop.

It was reported that dancehall artist Gully Bop had been admitted to the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH), where he is being treated for complications from a hernia and blocked tubes.  The Body Specialist deejay is reportedly in a lot of pain and needs financial aid to help with his medical expenses.

“We’ve just started the campaign, only four donors so far amounting to US$200. Claude ‘Big Stone’ Sinclair made the introduction with Gully Bop and we’re trying to help him with his medical expenses,” a representative of Real Helping Hands, said.

The crowdfunding platform facilitates Caribbean-based individuals, charities, non-profits, and businesses in their bid to raise funds through contributions.

A donation can be made on the campaign’s page.

Gully Bop, whose meteoric career unfolded in the age of social media, which helped him to become a star at 50 years old, and shake off poverty, only to become fodder for the media with a well-publicized string of incidents that included a public break-up with his former manager.  He even faced domestic abuse charges in the Brooklyn Criminal Court and assault charges in the local courts.
