Popular Youtuber and emerging Dancehall artist Nklyne broke his silence regarding the brutal beating death of his mother at the hands of a lone robber last Friday.

The Dancehall artist, who is also a popular YouTuber with more than 410,000 subscribers, made a 13-minute video posted on the NICKII VS KLYNE channel yesterday discussing the ordeal.

He said he did not want to remain silent because he “knew that people out there really cared”.

“Everybody deal with pain and grief differently so if yu a go judge offa the eyewater, it no mek no sense cause people cry for all kinda tings, tears not really mean much, tears is a way people express demself, but for me, mi deal with my pain and grief different, it de inna mi head,” the Guard singjay said.

The YouTuber made an appeal for justice to prevail and that he didn’t believe in ‘jungle justice’.

“Mi just want the law to do its job, mi no believe inna dat (jungle justice),” he said.

According to official police reports, 54-year-old Lorna Lake, a subsistence farmer, was taken from her one-bedroom dwelling in Newport, Manchester, along with her common-law husband, at about 9:00 pm on Friday night by a robber demanding money.

The perpetrator then took them outside and tied them up in nearby bushes. Lake’s common-law husband was brutally beaten until he collapsed. Lake was taken to the adjoining community of Blenheim. It was believed that she had been kidnapped, prompting Nklyne to announce the abduction. The police were summoned and a search of the area was conducted.

However, hours later, Lake’s partially nude, bruised body was discovered. According to police, she was found lying on her stomach with wounds to her face.

Lake was featured in one of the couple’s videos 10 months ago. Lake’s other sons, Twi and Vinch, are also YouTubers.

Since the ordeal, Nklyne’s girlfriend, who is commonly known as Nicki and shares the Youtube channel with him, has deleted all her posts from Instagram, and on Sunday, she posted the dove, candle and crying emojis to her IG story.

Nklyne recently released an EP titled Stardom. His other tracks include Bonnie & Klyne, Badmind, and Friends.
