During his second appearance on VLADTV, in as many months, American-born supermodel Tyson Beckford, whose parents are Jamaican, reverted to his patois-spitting alter ego when the discussion turned to the topic of men, like Drake and Kanye West, who have allegedly gotten liposuction—a surgical procedure that uses suction to remove fat from specific areas of the body.

In the expletive-laced interview with DJ Vlad uploaded yesterday, Beckford disapprovingly began: “Some men are out there getting liposuction, ain’t gon name no mens but we know who some of them is.”

DJ Vlad, however, had no qualms about naming them and referenced Hot97 DJ Funkmaster Flex, who outed Drake, Kanye West, and LL Cool J while publicly sharing his own procedure in December 2020.  While Drake and LL haven’t commented on the matter, Kanye had previously admitted that he had liposuction, according to BET.

Beckford responded to Vlad’s commentary by switching to his Jamaican alter ego: “Like Popcaan said, Whyyy, a f-ckry dat!” he said, before shaking his head.

Popcaan, who is signed to Drake’s OVO Sound, is known for his popular catchphrases like Chubble!, Killy Killy, and Whyyy?, which he often uses to express disapproval of certain actions. For example, on the mixtape version of the Dancehall star’s FIXTAPE (2020) album, Drake received a Popcaan ‘Whyyy?’ around the 38:00 minute mark, after he complimented someone on their “sweet looking” ripped jeans during a video call.

Beckford, a former Ralph Lauren model continued, “Bro, I’m a 50-year-old man who does work 5 days a week.  I built a gym in my garage, that’s fully equipped.”

“Some of us are just built different.  We gon go to the gym and do the work, you know what I mean,” he said. “There’s no reason for me to go lay down on some doctor’s table and have him jabbing and sticking and sucking.  You see it right?  That sh-t is wild.”

“I’m from the Warrior tribe, we don’t do that,” he added.

In September 2021, Beckford once again addressed rumors which were started by his ex Kim Kardashian-West, who suggested that the former Ralph Lauren model was gay after he made an unsavory comment about plastic surgery on one of her Instagram photos.

Beckford again referenced the rumor in his most recent VladTV appearance, when the discussion turned to celebrity men wearing dresses.

“For me… you ain’t never gonna catch me in no dress…that’s all I’m gonna say.  Let’s move on I am not even gonna get into this one,” he said, in a failed attempt to control himself.

He settled into his answers with choice words aimed at his detractors. “And Motherf–kers have the nerve to say I am gay, b-tch you ain’t never seen me in no f-cking dress or skirt. Guess what you ain’t never gonna see me in one. That’s not what I do.”

Beckford, who was named “Man Of The Year” in 1995 by VH1 and one of the “50 Most Beautiful People in The Word” by People Magazine, was one of the leading pop culture figures in the fashion industry for the greater part of twenty years, having appeared in numerous music videos, TV commercials, and movies including Troix 2: Pandora’s Box, Addicted and Chocolate City.

On whether he was ever asked to wear something that felt uncomfortable back in the day, he said: “I don’t think so, not that I can recall, back then the envelope was never pushed to that point and we never had that kind thing.”

“A lot of the stylists and people that I worked with were very much intoned with who I was…everything I did was masculine,” he assuredly stated.
