With the promise of a return to some degree of normalcy on the horizon, several Dancehall artists are gearing up to drop new albums this month including Skillibeng, Demarco, and Bugle.

Popcaan, Jahmiel, TeeJay, and Konshens may also drop this month but, so far, have not confirmed a date.

Skillibeng – Crocodile Teeth The Album
October 15, 2021

Predicted to be “one of the biggest in history,” the Eastsyde Fresh Prince will release his debut studio album on October 15.  Along with the grim cover art, Skillibeng has also revealed that the album will feature just a dozen new tracks including collaborations with American rappers Bobby Shmurda, Rich the Kid, and Lil Zack along with English rapper Stefflon Don, and Jamaican Dancehall stars Popcaan, Spice, and newcomer Davianah, the daughter of Reggae singer Tony Rebel.

Though the legendary rap queen, Nicki Minaj has already remixed Skillibeng’s highly popular single Crocodile Teeth, Brooklyn drill rapper, Bobby Shmurda will appear on another official Crocodile Teeth Remix, which will serve as the flagship track on the upcoming collection. Crocodile Teeth The Album will follow the deejay’s previous projects, The Prodigy: Ladies Only Edition, which was released earlier this year, and The Prodigy Mixtape in 2020.

Demarco – Melody
October 22, 2021

The very prolific Dancehall singer/deejay, producer, director, and songwriter Demarco will drop his very first studio album titled Melody, on October 22. Named after his now one-year old daughter, Melody, the forthcoming project boasts a star-studded set of features that includes Sean Paul, Konshens, Sarkodie, Spice, Stephen Marley, Chronic Law, Bounty Killer, Beenie Man, Ky-Mani Marley, and Shaggy.

Among the album’s 16-track collection are previously released songs, like the lead single Mover, a rhythmic duo with Konshens, and his summer banger Dance My Stress Away with Stephen Marley along with another Roots Reggae style issue called Stuck On You – all with accompanying music videos.  It also appears that Demarco’s 2020 single Homage that paid homage to Beenie Man and Bounty Killer will be re-released with new vocals from the Verzuz superstars.

Bugle – Toxicity
October 22, 2021

Reggae-Dancehall artist Bugle confirmed that his upcoming project Toxicity is coming on October 22. He has been avidly promoting what will be his fourth studio album since August, giving fans a sneak peek of some of the songs in the collection as well as the cover art. Based on the tracklist, there will be a total of 19 songs complete with some exciting Jamaican features like Bounty Killer, Julian Marley, Beenie Man, Jahmiel, Jesse Royal and newcomer Nation Boss plus a couple of others.

The lead track Toxicity, which was produced by ZJ Sparks through Twelve 9 Records group and Loud City Music has already hit the airwaves, debuting last month with an accompanying music video. The album will follow his previous, Picture Perfect that released in 2019.

Popcaan – Title Unknown

While the exact release date and album name is unknown at this time, the Unruly Boss Popcaan did promise fans back in August that, “I’m doing my next album launch in Ghana”.  Now that the Dancehall star has landed in the motherland, it appears the album could drop this month. He must return to Jamaica by October 21, in order to abide by quarantine obligations ahead of his Yallahs Traffic Court appearance on November 4.

So far Poppy has released the first single, Superior off what will be his fifth studio project – which he boasted is going to be even better than his critically acclaimed FIXTAPE that released August 2020.

Jahmiel – Legend

Patriotz boss Jahmiel is expected to drop his next studio album Legend this month according to his manager, Dr. Dave Wallace of Sweet Music. The new LP is set to feature collaborations with his one-time rival Dancehall deejay Vershon and another with Ghanian Afrobeat star Stonebwoy. Jahmiel and Stonebwoy have already teamed up on two previous singles, Motion and Mama.

Back in July, Wallace stated that there might be two other big features on the album but couldn’t confirm at the time. The Strongest Soldier singer dropped his first single off the upcoming collection last week, titled, Mind Games.

Now as Jahmiel is re-born and baptized, fans can expect to hear mostly inspirational, love and conscious music on his latest project, something his earlier fanbase is accustomed to hearing. “The fans are very excited to see him recalibrate and focus on doing songs that are inspiring and motivational, they are really excited about that,” his manager revealed.

Legend will follow his previous album, Revamp that released in June 2020.

Teejay – Rags To Riches

The Up Top Boss confirmed that his debut album, Rags to Riches is finally complete and will arrive around the time of his birthday – which is October 3. In an interview on The Fix last August, the Dancehall singer spilled the beans on a few overseas acts that will make a feature on the new album thanks to his new management at Solid Agency. “We even have some good collab right now, mi shouldn’t even say it but we have all song wid Kodak Black, The Game, we have whole heap a bad song fi release right now,” Teejay said.

There will also be several Jamaican features on the Rags To Riches album that includes Rygin King, Skillibeng, Jada Kingdom, and Dexta Daps, along with producers Damage Musiq and Slingaz to name a few.

As a part of his recent birthday celebration, Teejay gave fans a teaser of one single, Bitcoin off his upcoming LP, which he said has a total of 20 songs.

Konshens – Red Reign

Said to be linked to his “red hair” era, between 2011-2012, Red Reign will mark the return of “the hungry, aggressive Konshens.”  The project had an anticipated release date in Q3 2021, which ended on September 30.

However, several tracks have already been released from the delayed collection, including the first single Can’t Stay Sober (produced by Good Good Productions), Pay For It with Spice (produced by Rvssian), Eye Contact, and Boom Bang with Davido (produced by Ricky Blaze & Jonny Blaze).
