Caribbean superstars Rihanna and Nicki Minaj recently linked up with Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty and Rihanna’s boo ASAP Rocky and her family.

Minaj, 38, posted a photo of the couples today, cozied up on a couch along with the Petty’s adorable son, whose name has not been released, but is affectionately called “Papa Bear”.

“#RokNRiha #QueenRih #CaribbeanGirlsRunit Love her downnnnnnn #NewYorkShit #YKTFV,” the rapper captioned the post.

In a video shared by the Minaj, the two Queens made it known that they were connected to their roots as they bantered about “Caribbean Girls” and culture. As they served looks Rihanna said, “Caribbean tings”.

To which Minaj said, “Caribbean Girls my name.”

It was at this moment Rihanna uttered, “Bajan girls don’t like Trinis,” which elicited a look of disbelief on Minaj’s face.

Rihanna, 33, then further explained, “And Trinis don’t like Bajans either, they draw a line in the ocean over flying fish”.

Minaj, who seemed to be hearing this saying for the first time reacted with, “What?”.

But Rihanna added, “that’s for a different night,” in her signature Bajan accent.

In another post, Minaj shared photo of Rihanna’s family.  “Rih’s family was just as beautiful & down to earth as her #CaribbeanGirlsRunIt #AskRihRih,” she wrote.

Both women — who previously worked together on Rihanna’s Raining Men (2010) and Minaj’s Fly (2011) — are expected to drop new music soon, with Rihanna having promised a Reggae-inspired album. She was reportedly working with several Jamaican producers and writers, while Minaj has recently followed a slew of Dancehall talent on Instagram including Pamputtae and Intence.

Rihanna’s Navy fanbase, the Barbz and many Dancehall fans are hoping that the surprising link-up means a collaboration is in the making.
