Back in February, the record-breaking track & field sprinter turned music producer stated that he would be releasing a Dancehall EP this year, which will set the stage for him to become an international Dancehall superstar similar to the global icon he has become in sports.

“We’re just trying to get a foothold, trying to make people understand that we’re not just here joking around. We’re serious about the music so we’re just going to take our time, just like in track and field, it’s all about work and dedicating and just taking our time. We don’t want to rush into anything, make any mistakes, so we gonna take our time. We will get there. We believe in ourselves, and we believe in the product that we’re putting out there,” he said in an interview on Zip FM radio.

The sprint star is continuing full speed ahead on his musical ventures, earlier in June Dancehall artist Cham disclosed in an interview with Entertainment Report’s Anthony Miller that he and producer-pioneer Dave Kelly will be working with Usain Bolt and his A-Team Lifestyle label to produce some new music.

The eight-time Olympic gold medallist’s entry into the music business in July 2019 came with the premiere of his hit riddim called the Olympe Rose Riddim, a variant of his signature champagne brand, ‘Usain Bolt’s Olympe Rose’.

The Immortal riddim followed in December that year to feature mega headliners, Vybz KartelMasickaDing DongDemarcoChris ‘Zuzu’ Martin and Munga Honorable. Bolt then dropped the Clockwork riddim in April 2021 bringing back a nostalgic, early 2000s Dancehall beat to feature a line of prominent Dancehall figures, including Vybz Kartel, Cham, Charly Black, Shaniel Muir, TeeJay, Christopher Martin and ZJ Liquid.

Just like his outstanding achievements in sports, Usain Bolt said he plans on seeing the same success through the efforts made in music. His ultimate goal, as it stands today, is to win a Grammy award.

“I want to win a grammy, that would be the biggest thing for me. That’s my end goal,” he said in an exclusive interview with the World Music Views podcast in June.
