Foota Hype on Tuesday afternoon, frontally took on the issue regarding the alleged shaving of the head of a young Rastafarian woman by a female police officer, whilst in the custody of the Clarendon police last week, labeling it, among other things, “a disrespectful, out of order violation”.

At the same time, the veteran music selector, ripped into Rasta artists and the Rastafari mansions, labeling them “puss kittens”, “the weakest set of Jamaicans” and other descriptions, due to what he said was their deafening silence on the matter.

On Emancipation, news broke of claims that 18-year-old Nzinga King had been forcibly shorn of her locks by a policewoman, at the Four Paths Police Station in Clarendon.

However, except for Chronixx, who had posted an up-side-down image of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) crest and condemned the organization, there was an eerie silence from the other Rasta artists, up to the point when Foota spoke castigated them on his Instagram Live feed.

After slamming Prime Minister Andrew Holness and Culture Minister,  Olivia Grange, Foota turned on the Rastafarian community, sparing neither Bobo Ashanti, Nyahbingi nor the twelve Tribes of Israel.

“My next portion of dis ting weh a gwan is my disappointment toward the Rasta community, like where are the Rastafarians now?  Weh oonu deh now when oonu fi defend dis likle girl? Where is that energy?” he asked.

The Calabar High School old boy then turned the heat on the Reggae artistes whom he said have hijacked the Rastafarian religion to make money and desert other Rastas, whenever they are being violated.

“Where are all the artistes who make millions offa Rastafari movement and Rastafari beliefs and preaching Rastafarianism o the people.  You end up becoming millionaires.  Where are you?  This is a raping of your every belief, a war on our religious belief.  If yuh naw guh fight fi dis wha oonu a sing fah den?” he charged.

“Wi nuh waan hear no song from oonu den enuh.  If dis is the revolution, dis is where yuh put yuh foot down.  Di Almighty a give oonu di opportunity fi show seh oonu love Rastafari enuh,” Foota cautioned.

“Dis a weh di Almighty a do enuh fi show seh some a oonu a chatty mouth enuh, or some a oonu only a sing song, but oonu naw live dis enuh.  Hustle oonu a hustle Rastafari enu.  A cheat oonu a cheat Rastafari enuh and oonu a guh get punish enuh.  Oonu a guh feel it enuh.  Di ancestors dem a guh beat oonu enuh.  Onnou weaken up enuh.  Oonu tun cat, no lion nuh deh again a bare kitten and cat enuh,” he added.

In another stinging blow, Foota described the Rastafarian Reggae artists as a bunch of weaklings, who had bowed to the LGBT community, because of money, and said he would insult any of them who chose to argue with him.

“Some a oonu need fi guh trim enuh, dutty shithouse.  A want none a oonu call mi phone meck mi get fi sen oonu up und di deepest, darkest  parta oonu mumma enuh.   Oonu caan ova Rasta side and fail fi talk di truth if yuh feel di truth.  Cause Rasta express demself spiritual enuh.  Suh if di spirit a tell yuh seh suppm wrong and yuh fraid fi say it outta yuh mouth, suppm wrong becaw yuh a worry bout visa and yuh a worry bout contract,” he argued.

“Dat mean seh your quest is not about righteous enuh.  Your quest is about fulfilling material and financial needs.  Because when you a deal wid righteousness, you deal with righteousness at any cost.  And the ancestral powers and the Almighty suppose to provide sufficient and abundance amount a everything weh yuh need fi do di work,” Foota declared.

The Cassava Piece native said that the Reggae artists had been given a prime opportunity to stand up for what they claim to believe in and show their worth, but through their actions, they have shown that they are only false prophets.

“If a nuh dah time yah now Rasta a guh rise up an mek dem presence be felt, den a when oonu a guh dweet?  If dis nuh touch a nerve inna every Rasta brain, an mek dem decide seh mi a guh get up and guh out deh guh protest dis, fi our immunity as a religion as a movement, a discipline, as an organisation, a when yuh a guh dweet?” he asked.

“All a oonu weh seh ‘fire caan cool, fire caan quench’, how oonu suh quiet?” he added, referencing Capleton.

In attempting to further prove his point, he threw some barbs at members of the Reggae Revival movement including Jesse Royal whom he said “defended Santa Claus”, and called out Fantan Mojah and for what he considered Sapphic scenes in his music videos.

“Oonu a guh backway.  And yuh know di wickedest ting meck mi know seh oonu licky-licky, all a oonu Rasta, all a oonu wid locks pan oonu head weh meck money offa righteousness, look how much money oonu have.  Look how much car and house oonu have.   Look how much ting Rasta gi oonu. Look how much ting righteousness gi oonu.  How can oonu be so ungrateful?” he demanded to know.

“How can oonu be so evil to Rastafari? How oonu can siddung inna oonu nice expensive car and si dis a happen an nuh seh nuttn?  How oonu can inna oonu big giant house and si dis a happen an nuh seh nuttn?  How oonu can inna oonu big studio weh a righteousness and Rasta words and movement buy it?”

He added: “Memba a di word weh come from oonu mouth buy di studio buy di van buy di car… put di money inna di account, and den oonu siddung inna di same ting weh Rastafari gi oonu and ignore di plight of Rasta and ignore di pain weh another Rasta a guh through.  How oonu du dat? And waan come tell me bout Rasta!  Rasta oonu fail wi enuh.  Big time enuh.”

Foota then condemned the souls of the Rastas whom he said were allowing “ungodly behavior” to flourish while turning blind eye to the plight of one of their own.

“A nuh me fi out yah a speak dah way yah enuh.  Mi nuh meck no money outta Rastafari… How pon earth oonu comfortable, di whola oonu?

“Di whole a oonu fi just poison and dead enuh!  Yeah! Onnu gwaan guh seh Foota wish death pon Rasta, yeah! Any Rasta weh a guh leave him nation fi suffer, might as well him dead.   Den oonu waan come talk bout Foota Hype licky-licky? Daat oonu seh?  Di Rasta community has gone quiet and dormant cause dem licky-licky,” Foota ranted.

Foota took no prisoners as the various mansions of Rastafari, the Nyahbingi, 12 Tribes and Bobo Ashanti were similarly berated.

“Righteousness a guh teck back everything weh righteousness gi oonu. Oonu a guh loose everything weh righteousness gi oonu.  Oonu Rasta. Oonu dreadlocks.  Oonu Nyahbinghi.  Oonu 12 Tribe.  Oonu Orthodx.  Oonu tribes of Israel.   Oou weh gain di fruits offa di tree of righteousness and den switch pon dem, when oonu belly full, oonu a guh starve again.  Oonu a guh suffa and oonu a guh suffa 10 times worse dan weh oonu did a suffa before Rastfari save oonu,” he declared.

“Oonu a guh cry.  Oonu loved ones, oonu pickney dem, oonu family dem shall suffa.  Oonu a guh bloodclaat suffa.  Never you dare bite di had weh feed yuh.  Oonu a guh suffa.  Di whole a oonu weh infiltrate Rasta ting fi meck money and fi get rich and when tings like these happen oonu ignore it”

He continued:”Oonu a play compromise wid Alphabet bway; oonu play compromise wid corporate Jamaica; oonu a play compromise wid raper; oonu a play compromise wid politician, oonu fraid fi talk outta oonu mouth, oonu coward; oonu tun puss kitten.  Hey, oonu si oonu, oonu shall suffa.  Oonu a guh feel it. This injustice shall not go unannounced. This shall not go unnoticed.  A tell mi a tell oonu dat!”
