Intence’s ‘Yahoo Boyz’ Earns No. 1 On YouTube Jamaica Charts

The music video for Intence’s Yahoo Boyz has captured significant interest in the streets, as well as on YouTube, according to the platform’s Music Charts And Insights during the July 23-30 tracking period.

Based purely on numbers of views, the YouTube charts were introduced in 2018 to provide a snapshot of the most popular artists, songs, and music videos on the platform in over 50 countries and territories.

With 2.4 million total views since its July 5 release, Yahoo Boyz rules the Jamaican chart this week at No. 1, up from No. 2 last week.  In the KD Visuals-directed video, the Dancehall artist declares that he will never go broke again. With a dose of fresh chicken blooda couple of dozen candles, a laptop, a few phones, and of course some Hennessey and a spliff in hand, Intence shows viewers he’s quite adept in the art of voodoo.

His collaboration with Dancehall singer Moyann, titled Too Good, is also currently trending No. 2 on the island after it was released on July 28.

The prolific deejay, whose real name is Tashawn Gabbidon, also dropped his debut EP, titled Wounded, on July 23.  Standouts from the five-track collection were the one-drop reggae tune, Nobody Knows, as well as the ladies’ anthem, Hard Fi Find.

Meanwhile, at No. 2 this week on the YouTube Music Charts & Insights is Rytikal’s Chosen.  Lil Nas X’s Industry Baby featuring Jack Harlow is at No. 3 in Jamaica.

450’s Imperfection is currently at No. 4, followed by 10Tik’s Roll Deep and Skeng’s Street Cred at No. 5 and 6.

Squash’s Rate You Rate You is No. 7, followed by Laa Lee’s Dirt Bounce and Spice, Shaggy, and Sean Paul’s Go Down Deh at No. 8 and 9.

D’Yani and Jada Kingdom’s Feelings (Remix) is currently at No. 10.  The track’s official music video was released on July 28. 

Billboard Reggae Albums Chart

On the Billboard Reggae Albums chart, Bob Marley And The Wailers continue to be No. 1 for the 81st consecutive week with Legend.

Shaggy’s Best of Shaggy: The Boombastic Collection is at No. 2, while Sean Paul’s Dutty Classics Collection is at No. 3.

Jason Mraz’s Look For The Good album re-entered the chart at No. 4 this week. 

Stick Figure’s World On Fire is at No. 5, followed by UB40’s Greatest Hits at No. 6 and Stick Figure’s Set In Stone at No. 7.

Soul Jazz Records Presents: Studio One Soul: The Original, a compilation album featuring Ken Boothe, The Eternals, Leroy Sibbles, Otis Gayle, Richard Ace, Jackie Mittoo, The Heptones and more, has debuted at No. 8 on the chart.

Rebelution’s Live at Red Rocks and In the Moment are at No. 9 and 10.
