Female record producer Lorna Da’Angel says she is determined to make her mark in the male-dominated Jamaican music industry.

“Men dominate the Jamaican music industry in every way, but I’m not put off by that. I believe that I can be as successful as any of my male colleagues. The time has come for more women to get into the production side of the business,” she said.

She continued, “I come from a musical background; my older brother Cliff Bramwell who’s now deceased, was Dennis Brown’s manager for many years. I learned a lot from him about the music business. I also have a lot of experience as a promoter and booking agent. Through my company Miles Ahead Entertainment I’ve promoted several successful events in the UK over the years, and I’m also one of the top booking agents in the UK.”

The hardworking entertainment entrepreneur made her production debut last year by releasing a ‘various artists’ album in October titled Atlantic Buzz.

The album features songs from seasoned campaigners Little Lenny, Little Kirk and Ras Charmer alongside several promising upcoming artistes such as Chad Amor, Dertee, I-Simeon, Kyng Prynse, Selah Wayne, Greg Blaze and Thesarus.

“This is my first project, and I am very proud of it. It’s doing well in the UK, and it’s also picking up in other territories. I’m grateful to everyone who helped to make the project possible, including all the artistes, my publishing administrator Cally Furcal, my mixing engineer Granny Bwoy and my sons Lamoy Comrie aka DJ Docta Flex and Cemry Wilson,” said Lorna Da’Angel.

The first single off the album is a steamy Dancehall track done by Little Lenny and Little Kirk titled Same Whine. A supporting music video was shot and directed by Nordia Rose. The single and the video was released two weeks ago.

The video is available on the Miles Ahead Ent VEVO channel.

The Atlantic Buzz Album is available on all leading digital platforms, including iTunes, Spotify and Amazon.
