Dancehall deejay Skillibeng has received mixed reactions to the visuals and viral challenge for his wild new single Sloppy. The music video for the track was released on May 28 and the song appears on Skillibeng’s latest project The Prodigy: Ladies Only Edition, alongside a slew of other cuts geared towards his female fans.

On Sloppy, the Dancehall star gets crude on a trap beat celebrating the “freaky” females he prefers.  “She love gunman/ Ak wid di pan, she’s a freak/ She love molly, she a freak/ Call mi daddy/ She f—g bad/ She nah nuh mannas/ She a freak, so damn sloppy”, he spits on the track.

As if the music video with several females competing for Skilli’s attention wasn’t controversial enough, the artist added a viral challenge that’s currently creating a stir in the Dancehall space.

The #SloppyChallenge invites females from all over to upload their best clips acting out the song’s bars.  The challenge has so far received over 40 entries, which are highlighted on Skilli’s Instagram page.

“Sloppiest video wins 350K!” Skillibeng declared, but he’s faced backlash after only three days from fans, trolls, and outlets alike who have lashed out at the antics.

Screenshots of a comment from a popular outlet have been making the rounds, calling out the contestants for degrading themselves on the internet, all for the cash prize of $350,000 JMD (over $2300 USD).

“Females cry everyday about respect but don’t even respect themselves imagine me have my wife, gf, sister or relative in skillibeng sloppy challenge expressing herself in such way because of money is this what society comes to, this is what women want to be respected for??” the user wrote.

On top of that, one entry, from contestant #14, was so heavily suggestive that it was reported and subsequently removed from Skillibeng’s Instagram page.

Fans seem divided as to whether they’re entertained or disgusted by this latest campaign from the Torpedo deejay.

Elsewhere users responded, “Women do these things and expect we fi tek unuh serious.” while another quipped “Dem nuh have parents?”

Others who were clearly feeling Skillibeng’s “festivities” said “A ova deh suh nice” while others commented “Baay vibes inna this” as well as “Skilli brings the devil out in women.”

Other’s compared Mr. Universe to the Worl’ Boss, Vybz Kartel, a man he’s declared as an inspiration many times. They noted the similarity with Vybz Kartel’s Freaky Gyal releases years before which also created a buzz on the local scene due to their suggestive content. “Starting to believe he might really be Kartel son…” one fan said while another added “Mi seh teacher will be very proud of you.”

A few however were very expressive, as if trying to purge and sanitize Skilli’s page with their comments. “Lol dem need some holy wata pon dem” one fan said while another very popular comment read “Skillibeng IG story want likkle Dettol”.
