Dancehall’s very prolific deejay, Vybz Kartel surprised fans yesterday with the release of a mini-album that he has dubbed X-Rated. The interesting collection features 9 entries  — an assortment of tracks and ‘skits’, courtesy of Short Boss Muzik and Vybz Kartel Muzik Production.

As the Worl’ Boss rolls out his x-rated songs, he breaks intermittently to share funny parodies and skits, and one very interesting confession on the final track, the Solid Boo (Outro).  The now top Dancehall veteran and GAZA leader revealed the first time he was booed on stage.

It was circa 1991 in Waterford Portmore, where he was living at the time with his parents. The then 15-year-old Adidja Palmer and his friend Ken snuck out of their houses to head to a nearby stage show in the neighborhood.

The aspiring deejay was confident and eager to share a song he had written, so upon finally grabbing the mic, he belted out, “Di gyal bruk out like ah big dutty sore, laad! She f—k down di whole a Portmore.”

Then came the solid “Booooooo …” and the MC, ‘Auggie’ didn’t make things any better, adding “Jah know star dem yute yah make the deejay ting look haad.”

Instead of perceiving it as a failure, Palmer saw it as a hurdle he would need to overcome. He returned home sometime after 3 am and following an inevitable spat with his father for sneaking out of the house, Kartel was resolute in improving his craft.

He wrote a whopping 10 songs that night he said, “Ah right desso me get the writers fever, fi know sey mi fi just write nuff, write, write, write!”

“So big up dah boo deh …. big up Auggie, big up Waterford, a long time uno a champion me, yuh done know,” he cheered.

Molynes Road

Another skit on the X-Rated collection included what a typical booty call with Vybz Kartel sounds like.

He calls this one Molynes, which is the intro to the single Molynes Road that plays out the aftermath. Comparing his manly assets to the actual thoroughfare in Kingston, “curve and extra long” he spurs raunchy bedroom imageries while describing a spicy rendezvous with his muse.

Stess Out, Stress Out

Call Stess Out, Stress Out a track for the ladies, the Fever singer tells his lovers don’t stress it, “Nuh bwoy can’t make you stress out stress out … we a check-in every time him check-out,” he says while portraying himself as the ultimate go-to side-piece.

Energizer Buddy

Energizer Buddy comes as an extension clipping of his pro bono gigolo deeds. He’s your ever-ready energizer buddy waiting to assist in any way he can but she better can keep up.

Ski Trip

Ski Trip arrives with another funny skit and is backed up with the full track. This is another girl’s anthem, though loaded with lots of encouragement, the Teacha cant help but highlight their sexual prowess while requesting a demonstration of such.

Motion

Motion is a collaboration with Dancehall deejay Savage Savo. The two flex their badman stud-like appeal, bragging about their many girls and that entrancing sway they have over them.
