Daughter of Dancehall veteran Beenie Man, Ikyra Davis says her father ‘gives his love too much’, but it’s not her place to speak on the demise of his relationship with motivational speaker Krystal Tomlinson.

The 20-year-old was on Instagram Live today disputing mobile data charges by the telecommunications company Digicel, but folks were more interested in finding out what caused the end of her father’s publicized relationship.

“That isn’t my relationship…” she said at first. “You see when my relationship mash up, me’ll talk bout that.”

Davis was joined by her cousin (Beenie Man’s niece), who had no issues answering some questions. Folks asked if Davis still had a chummy relationship with Tomlinson, to which she said, “Yeah she and Krystal good.”

Davis added, “Yeah, a nuh me and Krystal left. A question me bout a relationship mi never inna… I would not like to answer the question and then say something that someone will take out of context… I will disrespect someone. I’m like my father, very disrespectful.”

The ladies asked the social media detectives to redirect their questions to the parties involved, but Davis also clapped back at those blaming her father for the relationship’s end.  The deejay’s first high-profile relationship was with DHQ Carlene in the 90s, then singjay D’Angel, whom he wed in 2006.

“My father is a very loving man. I feel like he gives his love too much,” she said.  “When him love him love very hard and him very emotional, the opposite of me but I’m getting there.”

A’mari‘s name also came up in the comments. The social media sensation has been shooting her shot at ‘The Doctor’ since he confirmed his split from Tomlinson on Monday, but his niece said she doesn’t stand a chance.

“A’mari will never ever come inna dis a family yah, yuh mad? That can never happen.”

Another viewer joked that Davis would soon be calling A’mari “mommy” to which she said: “But why would I call someone else mommy when I have a mother?” she asked. “Mi have a madda weh love me so why mi woulda waan call someone else madda?”

Another user enquired about longtime claims that her father doesn’t take care of her siblings financially. Though she said she is not currently living with him, she said she couldn’t relate to such claims.

The conversation then took a shift to a more general discussion about love and relationships. When asked if she would date someone famous, Davis said it was not likely, but did agree with her cousin that deejay Tommy Lee Sparta could be an exception.

“Tommy Lee nice enuh…mi like the ‘uncle demon’ thing him do,” Davis said. “Mi like Tommy Lee fi all the wrong reasons… Mi nah go tell no lie, Tommy Lee have a nice sex sppeal bout him.”

As for an inkling of her type, she said she likes a man who has his own, which she said is not influenced by her father’s status.

The psychology college student is currently in a relationship and said she’s happy, but added that she is grossly perplexed by the nuances of romantic love.  “I cannot understand the concept of love. Just how kind is love? How pure is love? Nothing in life can be too kind or too pure. Love can also be ugly and hard… Love is hard and love is self-destructive.”
