Dancehall titan Beenie Man seems to be the butt of everyone’s jokes as we head into the New Year. After being charged over an alleged illegal party recently, even the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) cunningly poked fun at the deejay in one of their latest public announcements on social media.

As they continue clamping down on the curfew restrictions and refusing party permits during this time, the JCF posted a stern warning to civilians on their Instagram page on Friday with the following opening: “Do you want to be that guy? Do not attend illegal parties …” turning Beenie’s very own catchphrase from the Verzuz battle with Bounty Killer right back in his face.

The JCF’s snarky announcement came the same day Beenie Man was slapped with two charges in connection to an alleged illegal party that breached Jamaica’s Disaster Risk Management Act (DRMA) and the Noise Abatement Act.

There were certainly no exemptions for his celebrity.  While Beenie was granted station bail; he is scheduled to appear in court on February 10. It would appear the JCF has taken this opportunity to not only get back at Beenie but to use his indictments as an example for anyone who is wildly considering violating the measures put in place to combat the spread of COVID-19.

Funny memes and photos of Beenie have already surfaced online to further spectacle the entertainer and his offences. The fans too have come out to take jabs at the King of the Dancehall deejay.

“Can’t believe I’m that guy,” commented one fan on the photo taken of Beenie when he turned himself in at the Black River Police Station in St. Elizabeth on New Year’s Eve.

“I guess he really wanted to be that guy😔,” said another and, “Beenie? You reeeaaaally aguh be that guy? 😂😂😂😂😂.”

However many of Beenie’s supporters were appalled that someone from the JCF actually snapped his photo when he appeared at the station that day.

“Which ever police posted this must be fired and that is why people don’t trust them Fi tell them nutten because a same way them disclose things to them gunmen friends and combollos🙄🙄.”

Another added, “A police man take this pic,” to which someone responded, “that’s an illegal stunt.”

The laughs continue…
