Reggae superstar Buju Banton has announced that he has re-mastered  and re-issued in HD, all the music videos which were recorded for tracks on his 25 year old Til Shiloh album, which was officially re-released last Friday.

On Friday, Buju wrote of how pleased he was of himself and of the classic album, which he said has stood the test of time.

“The 25th anniversary of Til Shiloh is rather epic, it displays the culmination of 25 years of work, which proves and stands the test of time; undeniably so. I am so happy and proud that I was able to tap into my creative consciousness, to create such a body of work that can still represent itself to the world today,” he stated.

“Now in crystal clear #RemasteredHD all of the music videos from ‘Til Shiloh! Avail now on @youtube and @youtubemusic #tilshiloh25 #Champion #UntoldStories #WannaBeLoved,” he again wrote on Instagram on the weekend, about the new videos.

In early November Buju had announced on social media that he would be re-releasing the 15-track album, on December 18.

He also said the album will feature a new track titled, Come Inna The Dance, which was initially recorded but didn’t make the original album.    Til Shiloh was his fourth studio album and was first released in 1995.

The Til Shiloh album was co-produced by some of Jamaica’s biggest names in Reggae and Dancehall, among them Penthouse’s Donovan Germain who was Executive Producer, Dave ‘Rude Boy’ Kelly, Bobby ‘Digital-B’ Dixon, Sylvester Gordon, and Steely and Clevie.

In addition, stalwarts such as Sly Dunbar, Dean Frazer, Tony Kelly, Dalton Browne, Glen Browne and Handel Tucker were also involved in that project as were Buju’s close friend Marcia Griffiths who did background vocals on Hush Baby Hush.

Buju’s long-time friend Wayne Wonder featured on What Ya Gonna Do, while Garnet Silk made his mark onthe classic Complaint which was voiced on the Tempo riddim.

Other Til Shiloh tracks include Til I’m Laid to Rest, which was produced by Bobby Digital, the popular anti-crime hit song Murderer, which was produced by Donovan Germain and Chuck it So, which was produced by Handel Tucker.

How Could You which was produced by Mafi and Fluxy, the Dave Kelly co-produced Wanna Be Loved and Only Man and It’s All Over which was mixed and produced by Steely and Clevie, are among the other love and romance tracks on the album.

The original Champion track which was produced by Donovan Germain and the Champion (Remix) are also included, as were Not an Easy Road, Til Shiloh, and Untold Stories heralded Buju’s journey into Rastafari.

Untold Stories which was the last song recorded on the album, was written and added to the tracklist after the album had been initially completed, as Donovan Germain, felt something else needed to be added.

Til Shiloh spent 38 weeks on the Billboard charts and peaked at number 27 in August 1995.   It was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), on its 25th anniversary, on July 18 this year.

The new version is the second album that Buju released this year.   On June 26 he also released Upside Down, a 20-track album, his first in a decade, which has been nominated for the upcoming Grammy Awards in the Best Reggae Album category.

The artiste who was born Mark Myrie, now has a total of 11 studio albums and 12 compilation albums under his belt.

Among his other studio albums are Stamina Daddy and Mr. Mention which were released in 1992; Voice of Jamaica in 1993; Inna Heights in 1997, Unchained Spirit in 2000; Friends for Life in 2003; Too Bad in 2006; Rasta Got Soul in 2009 and the Grammy-winning Before the Dawn in 2010.
