Popular sound system selector turned artiste Badda General dropped his first album on all digital platforms on Tuesday (October 27).

Badda General, known for his raspy vocals, revealed that his Money App Project album has been a long time dream, which has finally become reality.

“I just wanted to be different with my music and stand out,” explained Badda General whose May 30 single of the same name as the project, has already been stirring up controversy online.

In the single, Badda General advocates that men should be repaid by women who have fleeced them out of thousands of dollars, knowing full well that they were not in love with them, through cash apps.

Badda General, who is busy promoting his second single I Wish, told DancehallMag that the tune is currently gaining a lot of traction due to the social media platform TikTok.

“The I Wish single is opening a lot of doors and I know the entire project is just as ‘out of the box’ so fans will love it,’ Badda General said.

Badda General went on to explain that he is using his music to address issues noting that the type of subject matter in the tunes is part of the appeal for newer fans of his music.

His unique perspective on subject matters, not often discussed in music, is something Badda General says characterises all ten tracks on his debut album which features DJ Liquid and Wayne Wonder.

Badda, who has been in the industry for over two decades, but only recently decided to launch his own music career, has already put out several singles from the long form project.

Currently, visuals are available for the single I Wish directed by ShotByShak on YouTube.

The artiste said that he would be shooting more visuals for the album in the coming weeks.

Born Omari Lawrence, the deejay hails from the parish of St James and is an alumni of the Anchovy High School.
