Team Spice In Mourning After Dancing Rebel’s Mom Dies From Cancer
2020 continues to be a year of loss and grief for Dancehall, as another member of the fraternity has lost her mom. Team Spice member Christina Nelson, better known as Rebel or Dancing Rebel, disclosed on social media early this morning that her mother has died from cancer.
“You left me in pieces,” the Dancer posted on Instagram, along with a short video of her hugging and kissing her mom.

It appears as though she had been battling the illness for some time, as the post continued: “Mommy mi used to fraid fi see you sick. Couldn’t face me fears now you gone and life nu really mekk sense no more, me angel just did waaa yu wait…Just fi mekk sure me give yu all yuh need..Nah go question God but I don’t know how much more I can take.. Rest up mommy mi love yu wid alla mi soul. #ihatecancer”
As her colleagues in Team Spice, and the wider Dancehall space woke up to the tragic news, they offered in their deepest condolences and support.
Early tributes poured in from Blacka, Teflon, HoodCelebrityy, Romeich, Kemar Highcorn, Skatta Burrell, among others.
Her boss Spice, who recently returned to the island, commented “I’ll be with you every tear drops. Be strong mi G , God got you 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 I love you dearly #SIPMOM.”
The Love and Hip Hop Atlanta star then took to her own page to post a picture of her dancer, with this caption: “Omg my dancer just lost her mom and I strongly believe 2020 should just go @rebeldonofficial Look how hard we laughed yesterday and today we wake in sorrow. I’m sooooo sorry Christina I can feel your pain, You never know what tomorrow may bring but I post this to remind you that I love you dearly and one thing I know for sure you’re strong like a lion and you got this because GOD GOT YOU Never forget I’ll always be your Second Mom #fxxkcancer I’ll be with you every step of the way”
It’s clear that the entire group considered Rebel’s mom to be their own, as Rebel’s bestie and fellow dancer Pretty Pretty also had a good relationship with the woman. She posted that she will miss her dearly.
