Dancehall newcomer Twani Price says his latest single Ypree reflects his deep emotions noting that he continues to grapple with the loss of a loved one who died a couple years aback.

Ypree shows off TWani’s versatility, as it tackles a difficult subject matter and puts on displays a more introspective side to his artistry.

Ypree is paying homage to those who have lost someone, especially when the world is so crazy right now,” said TWani.

“I personally lost friends a couple years ago and I wanted to just express how that made me feel,” he added.

According to the artiste, it is important to deal with your emotions but dealing with them in such an open way doesn’t make him a “push over” – something he felt he needed to make clear.

TWani said that because he started off his entertainment career as a comedian/social media celebrity this doesn’t make him “soft”.

“Things would be very different if I didn’t choose music, sometimes people look at you as simple or soft but silent rivers run deep and I’m capable of reacting just like anyone else especially if I’m violated,” Twani added

Twani noted that presently he was concentrating on building a catalogue of songs for a full performance set.

His singles such as Honda and Na Lef are already in circulation, while Phenomenal Remix and IG Post are about to be released.

The video for the YPree, produced by Daino Music Records, was released over the weekend with visuals directed by HR Visuals.
