American rapper Cardi B has always been proud of her Caribbean roots and has often referenced Caribbean music, proudly displaying her heritage.

The singer also has major love for Vybz Kartel and his remake of WAP, called the WAP Freemix, seems to be bringing her great joy. WAP, which is a collaborative effort between Cardi and Megan Thee Stallion has taken the US by storm. The official audio for the track has already been viewed more than 16 million times on YouTube, while the video has been viewed over a whopping 100 million times. The track has already qualified for a Gold Record, having sold over 500, 000 copies.

It should come as no surprise that she’s familiar with dancehall and is a fan of the genre because the Bodak Yellow singer, whose real name is Belcalis Almanzar, was actually born to a Trinidadian mother and a Dominican father and was raised in the Bronx, New York.

She posted the following message to her Instagram last night, August 16, along with a video showing two fans on social media platform Tik Tok lipsyncing the Worl’ Boss’ remix.

Cardi then showered praise on the veteran dancehall artiste, who is currently awaiting his chance to go before the Privy Council in order to gain his freedom after being incarcerated for about nine years for a murder conviction.

“Haaaannn this my one of my FAVORITE ARTIST IN THE WORLD @vybzkartel . He remix WAP all the way from Jamaica 🇯🇲,”  Cardi B wrote in her endorsement.

Her post has already been viewed over a million times, maybe to fans who don’t know that much about dancehall. It’s definitely a signal boost for the veteran, Kartel, as she has over 72 million followers on her Instagram page.

Vybz Kartel replied almost immediately with heart emojis and thanked the rapper for her acknowledgment. Kartel also tagged the creator of the TikTok video, indicating that he was pleased with his effort. He said: “@fullywhite12 up!” The creator is a well known Gaza fan.
