It appears dancehall veterans Foota Hype and Bounty Killer are on their way to finally burying the hatchet after the selector, yet again, extended the proverbial olive branch to the Warlord on his birthday.

The two exchanged pleasantries on Friday, with Foota first wishing the One General a happy 48th birthday in an Instagram post featuring a photo of the duo in happier days, noting in the caption that regardless of whether or not the birthday boy acknowledged his overtures this year, he would not matter to him as respect was due to the man who gave him his big musical break.

“If @grunggadzilla accepts or approve this post, is not my business.  We have had bad moments, but that will never cloud my memory of all the good he did for me and my music career.  I wish Mr. Pryce long life and prosperity and superb health with a lot of wealth.  Happy new year to the dancehall Gad,” Foota wrote.

Unlike last year when Bounty, still seething from the longstanding online war of words with Foota, ignored the selector’s birthday wishes, Miss Ivy’s last son acknowledged the sentiments and responded with an expression of gratitude for his former friend’s kind words.

“Give thanks, bless up,” Bounty Killer wrote, adding a clasped hands emoji.

Foota’s fans were delighted at the exchange between the two, some claiming it was a show of ‘spiritual maturity’, while others said they had maximum respect for Foota for being outspoken, but hardly ever carrying grievances in his heart, while others said the reconciliation was long overdue.

Among those cheering the two along were ‘spratodan’ who described the exchange as a ‘Big Man Move’ by Foota and expressed his respects to Bounty for acknowledging the overture.

Another follower ‘mentionman25’ said the two artistes were setting an example for the upcoming members of the dancehall fraternity.

“Love di unity. We can’t expect the people dem to unite if our DJs don’t dweet. This is a big move. I followed Bunti mi DJ from him buss and same ting with Foota. Mature step dat Foota and general movements Bunti for being di big man he is,” he stated.

In his comments, ‘rastamitch’ also hailed Foota for using his platform to not only laud Bounty but also for highlighting other artistes and vloggers, which he said was a display of goodwill.

“Big up Foota Hype.  Regardless of any circumstance, you showed love nuff respect.  And next thing I want to add, is that I see you support many artist selector vloggers, etc.   I follow most of them and I can see where you always give your support.  Much respect Foota.  Heart clean like a whistle.   Big up me #1 artist Bounty Killa fi reach out back to Foota Hype.   This me love fi see.   Blessed my brothers,” he said.

For her part’ lovin8758’ said she realized that the estrangement between the two was very painful for Foota, and so it was a relief to see that Bounty had responded positively.

“Foota it’s nice that you can bless up Bounty and remember where you and him coming from.  To be honest, sometime when I hear you talk, it’s like your hurting that things came to what it did.   But God knows best love.   Bounty is my foundation artist.  I wish u both all the best and love that u keeping 100,” she noted.

Foota Hype fell out of favor with the Warlord in 2016, after he made statements during an interview on Jamaican entertainment show OnStage that even though the Hey Baby deejay was a giant in Dancehall, he was not hot as an artiste as he was continuously voicing for the wrong producers.

Bounty took umbrage to the remarks, and the relationship between the two had disintegrated from then, with both men trading insults online, and Foota even challenging Bounty to a duel and reportedly ceased playing the artiste’s music at events.

Last August, Foota claimed that he was certain somebody within dancehall circles had worked witchcraft on his former longtime friend and mentor, whom he described as the most generous, kind-hearted, and most supportive friend he has ever had.  At the time, he said he was unhappy because the nature of the séance was aimed at ensuring that the Seaview native destroys all his relationships with his peers.

He said the witchcraft appeared to be so potent that it even destroyed Bounty’s Alliance movement, which gave numerous artistes their big break and demanded that the witchcraft workers release Bounty from their evil spell.
