Caribbean parents have long held the crown for enforcing mannerism, and as much as he’s the ‘swag dag diggy’ deejay on stage, Mr Lexx is no different.

In a recent Instagram post, the dancehall toaster is out and about with his teenage son and daughter, moments before they pull up to a movie theatre.

The throwback video, which was partially captioned “Lol, I miss dem…#mykids,” sees Mr Lexx breaking down the basics of catcalling in Jamaica to his son who resides overseas.

“Alright Joe, listen,” his ‘dad talk’ started. “Your sister is 18 now, and guys can look at her. This is Jamaica, don’t be up inna di movies and a (get) piss and waan rush everybody weh look pan yuh sister, okay?”

“What are you talking about?” his son asked.

“I’m just saying though, I know you…you gon’…”

“Nobody’s gonna look at my sister bro,” his son snapped back.

Mr Lexx, defying the usual overprotective, ‘I won’t let my daughter date until she’s 50′ character often portrayed in movies, was more understanding.

“I’m saying, it’s cool if they look at her.”

“Jamaica or not bro,” the bro-ing continued.

“If they touch her it’s a problem, but…” Mr Lexx was cut off.

“For sure, if they look at her bro that means they tryna proceed with the action bro and I ain’t with that,” his son defended.

Daddy Lexx reiterated, “Yeah but if they don’t touch her everything is good.”

“I’m obviously not gon’ be there and watch a guy look at my sister. Imma be like,  ‘what’s up bro?'”

As the young lady sat on the back seat amused at the two, Mr Lexx responded, “Nah but you don’t have to say ‘what’s up?’, that’s what I’m saying. She’s 18, you don’t have to say ‘what’s up?’. Guys can look.”

“So what? I’m 18 bro, she’s still my little sister brah.”

That’s when the Caribbean parent came out.

“I’m dad, I’m not bro. I’m dad,” the deejay corrected.

“Alright dad, but still. You the dad, what are you talking about?” he asked, seemingly puzzled about his father’s stance.

Though it is not clear how the argument ended (or if peace prevailed while they were at the theatre) Mr. Lexx did get some support in the comments.

“I’m Dad, not bro,” user Chicka Dee reiterated.

“My son call me ‘bredda’ also but me nah medz him,” said Lester Gayle.

Nardo Frass added, “Warn him Mr Lexx, don’t mek him touch a button first.”
