Watch Vybz Kartel’s New ‘World Government’ Video
Vybz Kartel has released the video for his single ‘World Government’ today, January 7th. The artiste who is still behind bars, pending his appeal, released the highly anticipated track on his 44th birthday. World Government is Kartel’s first single in 2020 and was produced by Shabdon, who also helped the Worl’ Boss to create the 2019 mega hit Any Weather.
The official music video for the World Government single premiered at midnight, as Shabdon wished the legendary deejay a happy birthday on Instagram. Kartel had teased that he would be officially releasing the song for his birthday a few weeks ago.
The visuals, directed by Wikid Media, features Gaza family affiliates and likely cabinet members including Sikka Rymes, Lisa Hyper, Jodi Culture and Gaza Sheba as they protest for the incarcerated Dancehall King’s release.
The song is a bold lyrical campaign message to the World that appeals to the impoverished and disenfranchised masses to unite under a political platform. Of course with Kartel being the Worl’ Boss, he would be leading this new global government.
According to the 3-minute track, a Kartel-led World Government will establish after school programs and a bauxite factor in Clarendon, Jamaica, and of course jewelry, houses and a Benz for every ghetto youth. Chinese, however, are not welcome once this new world order is established.
The Worl’ Boss also promises that child molesters will get swift justice by hanging. He adds that these policies are the only way to make everybody happy and save the ghetto youths.
His Gaza cabinet, he says, will ensure all this takes place and he urges the world to vote for him because “nuttin else makes sense”.
According to some reports both Any Weather and World Government were made in 2009, while other sources refute this and claim that they were only recently recorded.
While listening to the highly anticipated single, fans couldn’t help but share their thoughts. “The last time something dropped that hard, Japan surrendered”, said one YouTube comment.
Another added: “So shabdon drop two hit of the start of 2019 now 2020..any whether now this..style”.
A few other fans noted World Governement‘s similarity to Kartel’s 2008 song called Imagine which appeared on The Teacher’s Back.
