Legendary dancehall artiste Vybz Kartel will release his highly anticipated single called ‘World Government’ in just a few days.

The incarcerated King of the Dancehall will be celebrating his 44th Birthday on January 7th, 2020 and he teased that World Government will be his gift to fans on that day.

The track will be accompanied by a music video, according to some sources.

Fans have been anxiously awaiting this single, produced by Shab Don Records, ever since the cover art for it was teased by the producer back in October. The cover art features Kartel’s tattooed face superimposed over a famous portrait of Former US President Barack Obama.

Shab Don is currently one of most sought-after music production labels for dancehall music. The young label’s big hit this year was Vybz Kartel‘s Any Weather, so the hype is real.  They also produced another hit called Badmind for Kartel.

Linval ‘Shabba’ Thompson Jr. of Shab Don told the Jamaica Star in September “We have the golden touch and my song dem a run dancehall right now, not just in Jamaica alone.”

The new song almost assuredly will be a massive hit.

World Government will drop just three days before the release of Vybz Kartel’s upcoming To Tanesha album which is currently available for pre-order on iTunes.  The video for the lead single on that album, Then You and Me, was just given to fans as a gift on Christmas Day.

Kartel had previously teased that his next album would be Exiled Pharaoh, however that has been pushed back in favor of To Tanesha. Perhaps we can look forward to a back to back album releases this year from the very prolific Worl’ Boss.

His previous albums were King of the Dancehall (2016), Viking (Vybz Is King) (2015), Kartel Forever (2013), Kingston Story (2011), Pon Di Gaza 2.0 (2010) and Pon Di Gaza (2009).
