There are many shades of Jahvillani, just listen to his music and you will see. Preserve Mi Life sheds light on the down-to-earth and conscious side of the deejay, which is a far cry from his typical guise as a gyalis (ladies man) in other tracks of his, such as Sunday To Sunday, Suh We Living , Fire Works and Nuh Reason. While his rhymes in songs like Just Another Day and Guh to Work portrays the dancehall artiste as a gangster/gunman.

The Preserve Mi Life music video, which premiered January 1st 2020 on Jahvillani’s VEVO page, takes us on an off-road trip in the deep woodlands of Jamaica. Jahvillani sits by a tranquil river while reading a bible and smoking a spliff as he sings the lyrics to the song. “Thank you Jah Jah fi preserve mi life, cah man could a dead out a crazy time, mi used to do wrong now mi change for right”.

The song is a personal tale of Jahvillani choosing good over evil, making the decision to read his bible for answers instead of using his gun to solve several problems he encountered during some tough times. The message in the lyrics continues thanking God for preserving his life and with trusting in him and working hard he was able to achieve the success he is experiencing now. Also further adding neither him nor his family is suffering anymore.

Good behavior sure does pay off, in just 4 days after its release on YouTube, the music video is trending in the # 9 spot and has already raked in over 131k views and similarly has had 11k comments from fans mostly commending the dancehall star for making such a great start to the new year.

One fan said, “Best way fi start off the year gad” and another “A lot of person didn’t make it in 2020 and we make it so we need to thank the creator for preserving our lives.”

The track Preserve Mi Life was produced by Dj Smurf Records on the GPS Riddim and the video was done by Dream X. There are a series of terrific visuals to portray the message in the song, certainly executing Jahvillani’s positive rhymes.
