A federal judge in New York has ruled that former President Donald Trump infringed on the copyrights of British-Guyanese singer Eddy Grant by using his Reggae-fusion hit Electric Avenue (1982) in a 2020 campaign video without permission.

Former US president Donald Trump has complied with a court-ordered deposition, in relation to British-Guyanese singer Eddy Grant’s $300,000 copyright infringement lawsuit, over the use of the superstar’s Reggae-fusion song Electric Avenue, in his 2020 election campaign.

Almost two years after British-Guyanese superstar Eddy Grant, filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against former US president Donald Trump, over the use of his Reggae-fusion song Electric Avenue, both parties have now been directed to testify under oath by June 21.
