Anthony B

Anthony B is the stage name of Keith Anthony Blair, a Jamaican reggae and dancehall artist born in Clark’s Town, Trelawny Parish, Jamaica. He began performing in church and at local events before releasing his debut single, “The Living Is Hard,” in 1993. He rose to wider prominence in the mid-1990s with spiritually driven, socially conscious songs such as “Fire Pon Rome,” “Raid Di Barn,” “Rumour,” and “Repentance Time.” His debut album, Real Revolutionary, appeared in 1996 and helped establish him as a leading voice in roots-oriented dancehall. Known as “The Original Fireman,” Anthony B is associated with the Bobo Ashanti branch of Rastafari and has built a career centered on political critique, social justice, and African consciousness. His powerful stage presence, flowing robes, and trademark staff have made him a sought-after live performer across the Caribbean, North America, Europe, and Africa.
