Dancehall star Beenie Man is shutting down allegations that he assaulted a fellow entertainer, Future Fambo, calling the claims “false, malicious and defamatory.”

The Grammy-winning artist, born Moses Davis, addressed the controversy in a statement released Tuesday, firmly denying the accusations and signalling that legal action could follow.

According to Beenie Man, he has already retained attorneys and is actively gathering evidence to challenge the allegations, which he says are completely untrue.

Future Fambo had claimed that he was assaulted by Beenie Man at an event called Boom Sundays.

There had been simmering tension between Beenie Man and Future Fambo after the latter accused Beenie of not giving him credit for his role in the ‘Rum and Red Bull’ song while Beenie appeared on a livestream with online streamer IShowSpeed during his visit to Jamaica last week.

However, the Who Am I deejay insisted that Fambizzle’s claims have damaged his reputation and made it clear that he intends to defend himself through the proper legal channels.

Davis’ statement indicated that should these demands not be complied with promptly “proceedings for defamation, damages, injunctive relief, and any other relief available at law” could be pursued.
