Serani, Gyptian Release Visuals For ‘She Got It’: Watch
Billboard-charting Reggae stars Serani and Gyptian have released their newest single, She Got It, a feel-good song produced by Tristmar ‘Trizo’ Peart of Konsequence Muzik and distributed by ONErpm Afro-Caribbean.
“The beat sounded happy and Gyptian and I went straight to vibing. We went into studio with a direct plan to make a song for our fans. We thought it would be great to do a happy party song for them, and it turned out really good,” Serani recalled about the production process.
The group worked alongside Tahj, the chief engineer at Konsequence Studio, who provided the foundation upon which Gyptian and Serani crafted the party anthem.
“Tahj was in the studio working on a beat; just a regular night doing music when a few ideas started coming to him. It wasn’t long before Serani walked in on the session so we asked for his input towards the beat. From there the rest is history,” Gyptian added.
While Gyptian and Serani’s chemistry together is undeniable, the two have prolific music careers.
“I have high hopes for this single, it was destiny how both Gyptian and Serani linked up at my studio for this single. They always see each other and tour, and that day, they were in the studio together, and it happened. It was just meant to be. The song is really streaming well so far,” Trizo, the chief executive officer of Konsequence Music, said.
The video has racked up over 100,000 views in 11 days.
Gyptian, whose given name is Windel Edwards, came to local prominence in the early 2000s with the hit song Serious Times, and has since then grown steadily to become one of the most consistent reggae singers in recent times.
His other songs include Mama Don’t Cry, Beautiful Lady, and Hold Yuh.
Hold Yuh, released in the summer of 2010, peaked at 77 on the Billboard Hot 100, number 16 on the UK Singles Chart, and 69 on the Canadian Hot 100. It was later remixed by American rap queen Nicki Minaj. The song is certified gold in the United States by the Recording Industry Association of America for sales exceeding 500,000 copies and certified platinum in the United Kingdom for more than 600,000 in sales.
Craig Serani Marsh, known professionally as Serani, was born in Kingston, Jamaica. Serani started out as a musician. In the early 2000s he and childhood friends – Craig and David Harrisingh – formed DASECA Productions. He co-produced hits such as Sean Paul’s Billboard-topping “We Be Burning” (on the Stepz rhythm) and Tony Matterhorn’s “Dutty Whine”. Later, Serani teamed up for the smash hit, “Dying” alongside Mavado.
Other hit singles include Skip to Ma Lu, Doh featuring Bugle, and the Billboard-charting hit No Games, which is certified Platinum in the UK for sales exceeding 600,000 units.
His albums include No Games (released in 2009), and It’s Serani (2012).
