“The wait is finally over!” That’s how Romain Virgo announced his latest release, and it suggests he’s been holding onto this one for a while.

The Jamaican singer confirmed on Facebook that his new single “My Woman & I” is out now, with an official music video arriving alongside it.

He kept the post short and warm. “I hope you enjoy this one as much as we enjoyed bringing it to life,” he wrote, pointing fans to the link in his bio. The “we” stands out, hinting that the project was a group effort rather than a solo studio session.

Virgo credited SAMO Jesse James next to a camera emoji, which points to him as the person behind the visuals. Virgo didn’t share any other credits, such as a producer, label, or tracklist. For now, the song and the video are doing all the talking.

The title alone fits squarely in Virgo’s lane. Since winning Digicel Rising Stars in 2007, he has built his reputation on romantic, vocal-forward reggae. That is the kind of lovers rock sensibility that runs through records like “Who Feels It Knows It” and “Wanna Be Loved.”

That approach has carried him a long way. His self-titled debut came through VP Records in 2010, followed by “The System” in 2012 and “Lovesick” in 2018.

Along the way, his reggae reworking of Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me” introduced him to plenty of listeners outside the dancehall and reggae core.

There are two ways to read a release like this. For longtime fans, a song called “My Woman & I” is exactly what they come to Virgo for: devotion, sincerity, and that unmistakable voice front and center.

For others watching his career, the question is whether he will keep refining the romantic formula that made his name or use new material to push somewhere less expected.

The way he rolled it out matters too. Dropping the single and the official video at the same time, rather than staggering them, gives fans the full package on day one. It’s a confident move from an artist who clearly felt the visual side was worth the effort.

What Virgo hasn’t said is just as interesting as what he has. There’s no mention yet of whether “My Woman & I” is a standalone moment or the first look at a larger project. There’s also no word on any live dates built around it.

For now, the song is out and the video is live. Virgo is inviting fans to decide for themselves whether the wait was worth it. Any hints about what comes next will most likely show up on his own pages first.
