Somewhere there’s apparently a locked vault with Rihanna’s name on it, and the songs inside might finally be heading our way.
That’s the word from The Joe Show, where Katie told listeners during the “Top Stories” segment that the singer has new music on the way that’s been sitting in a vault.
The segment didn’t go deep on details. There’s no tracklist, no release date and no word on how many songs are in there, so for now this is a report rather than an announcement.
Even so, a rumor like that travels fast when it’s Rihanna. Her last studio album, Anti, came out in January 2016, and her fanbase has spent nearly a decade refreshing their feeds for any sign of a follow up.
Anti is also where a lot of her Caribbean roots came through loud and clear. Work,” her hit with Drake, leaned hard into dancehall rhythms and patois, and it carried on a thread that goes back to her 2005 debut single “Pon de Replay.” Fans of her dancehall side would love to know if any vaulted material picks up where that left off.

In the years since Anti, Rihanna has mostly been building an empire away from the studio. Fenty Beauty launched in 2017 and Savage X Fenty followed in 2018, both turning into massive businesses. Music arrived in occasional bursts rather than full projects.
The biggest of those bursts was “Lift Me Up,” her 2022 ballad for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which earned an Oscar nomination.
A few months later she headlined the Super Bowl LVII halftime show in February 2023 and used the stage to reveal she was pregnant with her second child with A$AP Rocky.
That’s where the skeptical angle comes in. Rihanna has teased new music for years, sometimes playfully and sometimes in ways that sent fans spiraling, and a lot of those hints never turned into an album. Plenty of longtime listeners have learned to treat every “new music soon” headline with a raised eyebrow.

On the other side, a vault story is a little different from a vague tease. If finished songs really are sitting on a shelf, the hard part might already be done, and the question becomes timing rather than inspiration.
Her life has been pretty full lately, too. She and Rocky welcomed their son RZA in 2022 and their son Riot in 2023, and she’s balanced parenting with running her brands, which helps explain why music has taken a back seat.
For now, the vault stays closed and Rihanna hasn’t confirmed anything publicly. Fans will be watching her socials closely to see if this one actually turns into a drop.
