Before Dowayne J. Morrison became Ny-Robii, he was known as Priceless, and before pushing his own music to the forefront, his pen was already contributing to songs recorded by Pamputtae, including “Good Good”, “Drive Mi Good”, “Stop It” and “Good Gold”.

Now based on Long Island’s East End in the Hamptons, the St. Thomas-born Jamaican artist is stepping out from behind those songwriting credits and building his own identity through reggae trap and dancehall.

Ny-Robii’s journey is rooted in reinvention and self-belief. He made his first release under the Ny-Robii name with “Clowny” in 2019, before following with the seven-track EP Welcome to Ny-Bration on 22 October 2021. The following year, he expanded his visual catalogue with “Destiny”, released on 16 May 2022. Its Vevo visual has accumulated more than 168,000 views, while his “Going Crazy” visual has surpassed 205,000 views, giving the two releases more than 370,000 Vevo views combined.

For Ny-Robii, however, the numbers are only part of the story. He describes himself as a lyricist with strong vocals and a distinctive storytelling ability, capable of moving across different topics and concepts. He calls his creative space “Flow State”, describing it as a place where his music operates on a different plane. His latest single, “Flight”, adds another chapter to a catalogue that he says is about overcoming obstacles, sharpening his skills and continually improving his craft.

That philosophy is also central to the message Ny-Robii wants audiences to take from his story. He believes a person’s present circumstances should not determine their future and says learning to trust himself, build confidence and believe in his goals helped shape his journey. Now, with more new music in the pipeline and another EP scheduled for later this year, his ambitions are extending far beyond recordings. Ny-Robii wants to perform at major festivals around the globe and ultimately establish himself as a household name, music icon and legend. The next phase of his career will determine how far that vision travels.
