One line in an industry tip sheet is all it took. Hits Daily Double’s “Hits List,” published Friday (Oct. 2), says Drake is “said to be in the Coachella discussion” for next year’s festival, and fans are already treating that like a done deal.

That’s a lot of weight for a single blurb to carry. “In the discussion” is not a confirmed booking, and Coachella has not announced anything. XXL says it has reached out to Drake’s team for comment, so for now this sits firmly in rumor territory.

Still, the timing makes the chatter easy to believe. Drake has openly promised a 2027 tour behind his trio of May releases, Iceman, Maid of Honour, and Habibti.

“Obviously, tour is coming, and other things on the horizon,” he told Etalk Canada in September, adding that “we’ll be out, you know, 2027 to see everybody again across the world.”

If the booking happens, it would be his first Coachella headlining slot in over a decade. Drake topped the bill in Indio back in 2015, a set people still bring up because Madonna kissed him on stage.

He came back in 2017 as a surprise guest during Future’s set, which shows he’s not shy about popping up in the desert without warning.

There are two ways to read this. Some fans see a Coachella slot as the perfect launchpad for a world tour, a huge stage to preview three albums’ worth of new material before hitting arenas.

Others are more cautious, pointing out that tip sheet whispers about festival lineups don’t always pan out, and that “discussion” can mean anything from a serious offer to a passing idea.

Meanwhile, Drake isn’t waiting around for a festival announcement to keep the music coming. On the same Friday the Hits List dropped, he released an expanded edition of Habibti called FOMO. It adds four tracks that appeared in his not so short film Fear Of Missing Out.

The new cuts lean into collaboration. Solar Eclipse” features Don Toliver and remixes Ella Langley’s country hit “Choosin’ Texas,” which is an unexpected crossover even for an artist who loves genre hopping. “Cold Shoulder” brings back Don Toliver alongside Yebba, and the set rounds out with “Québec” and “Classic Pt. 2.”

The FOMO edition also comes with new music videos for songs from both Maid of Honour and Habibti. That includes “Cheetah Print” with Sexyy Red, a sign the rollout for these May albums is far from finished.

Between the expanded release, the film, and a tour on the calendar, the OVO Sound boss is clearly keeping this era in motion.

So is the 6 God heading back to Indio? Coachella usually reveals its lineup well ahead of the festival, and until that poster drops, every new Drake move is going to get read as a clue.
