More than half of the listening behind Masicka’s Forever Reign came from people who aren’t paying for it.

That might be the most telling number in the album’s latest report card. According to Luminate data obtained by Kaboom Magazine, the Dancehall star’s third studio album has now passed 71.3 million streams.

Of that total, 36.8 million streams, or 52 percent, came from ad supported services. The other 34.5 million, roughly 48 percent, were generated by premium subscribers.

That near even split cuts two ways. The free tier edge shows the album is reaching well past committed fans and into casual listeners.

Ad supported plays generally pay out less per stream, though, so that strong premium share matters a lot to the bottom line.

Forever Reign arrived on August 14 through Def Jam Recordings. Beyond raw streams, it has racked up 43.1 million stream equivalents and more than 5,500 digital song sales, according to the same Luminate figures.

The chart story is a little more mixed. The album debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart, then slipped to No. 9 in its second week.

A second week dip isn’t unusual for a big release, and the streaming totals suggest the record kept moving long after its opening frame.

There’s awards chatter in the mix too. Forever Reign is among the projects submitted for Best Reggae Album consideration at the upcoming 2027 Grammy Awards.

That puts a Dancehall record from one of Jamaica’s most in demand names into the conversation for the genre’s biggest international prize.

Off the charts, Masicka is staying busy. He’s heading back to Canada for the second time this year, following his set at the Oasis Music Festival in August.

This time he’ll join Mavado for the veteran deejay’s highly anticipated concert at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto on Thursday, November 5.

Seeing the two share an arena stage should land well with the city’s large Caribbean community, many of whom grew up on Mavado’s catalogue.

From there it’s off to the UK for the indoor edition of City Splash on November 26. City Splash has long been a fixture for reggae and Dancehall fans in Britain, so the booking keeps Masicka in front of one of the genre’s most loyal overseas audiences.

Then he returns home for what may be his biggest personal undertaking yet. On December 19, Masicka will host his inaugural Forever1NE Music Festival at Caymanas Park in Portmore, marking another major milestone in his career.

Launching his own festival on home soil is a different kind of test than streaming numbers or chart positions.

With the album still pulling plays and a Grammy decision still ahead, the figures attached to Forever Reign could look very different by the time he steps onto that stage.
