DancehallMag is the leading independent publication covering Dancehall and Reggae music, the artists, and culture since 2019.

Blvk H3ro is going to be a father. The reggae artist dropped the news in a birthday post on Facebook, tucking it into a list of blessings that would make most artists’ year-end recaps look thin.

“Jah give me the best gifts this year,” he wrote, before running through everything he’s been carrying. He met “the love of my life,” he’s “gonna be a dad,” and he finally put out his first mixtape.

That mixtape is *Strictly Good Vibes Vol 1*, and according to Blvk H3ro, it debuted at #4 on the iTunes chart. He didn’t say which territory’s chart, but for a first project the placement gives him real bragging rights. He clearly sees it as a milestone, not a side note.

What stands out is how he frames the release. Rather than pushing it as a commercial play, he signed off with a softer pitch: “Stream/listen to Strictly Good Vibes Vol 1; it’s a bday gift from me to you,” followed by a prayer-hands emoji. It’s the kind of move that turns a promo post into something closer to a thank-you note.

There are two stories running side by side here. One is a career that’s clearly picking up speed, with the chart debut, performances in “several new countries,” and a team he says “has grown.”

The other is a much more personal shift, a new relationship and a child on the way, landing in the same twelve months.

He doesn’t pretend the year was all wins, either. He called it “a year of sacrifice and growth,” a phrase that hints at what it took behind the scenes to get the mixtape out and the touring moving. For fans who only see the finished product, that’s a rare glimpse at the other side of the ledger.

The line most people will probably remember is his description of where he’s landed. “My heart has grown, and I feel like a Nu man,” he wrote, a playful spelling that fits an artist who has always leaned on stylized names, starting with his own.

He also gave a nod to his inner circle, saying he has “the right ones in my life.” It reads like someone who has done some pruning and is happy with who’s left standing.

For now, he hasn’t shared any further details about the baby, the relationship, or what comes after the first volume. But the “Vol 1” in the mixtape’s title suggests he’s already got more good vibes queued up.
