Dr Maureen Mullings-Nelson, Vybz Kartel’s sister and president-elect of the Jamaica Teachers’ Association, is among three people hospitalised following a two-vehicle collision near Duncans, Trelawny, last Thursday.
According to reports, the crash occurred around 3:30 p.m. while Mullings-Nelson was a passenger in a burgundy Honda CR-V driven by another woman. They were travelling from Montego Bay, St James, into Trelawny.
On reaching the Carey Park main road near the Duncans intersection, their vehicle collided with a white Honda CR-V travelling in the opposite direction. Preliminary reports indicate that the white vehicle drifted into their path.
Mullings-Nelson and both drivers sustained injuries. Police officers and members of the Jamaica Fire Brigade helped them from the vehicles before they were taken to Falmouth Public Hospital for treatment.
Details of their injuries and current conditions were not provided.
DancehallMag extends its best wishes to Mullings-Nelson and the other injured persons, and wishes the Palmer family strength during this difficult time.
