Guyana Cops Arrest One Suspect In Shooting Of Lola Doll

Guyana sleuths have arrested one person in connection with the shooting of entertainment and social media personality Lolita Callendar, popularly known as “Lola Doll”, late Saturday.

The police confirmed the arrest on Sunday, noting that the individual is in custody and is apparently “assisting with the investigation”.

The 33-year-old artist, known for her expletive-laden music and flamboyant parties, was reportedly shot multiple times outside her home late Saturday night.

Initial police reports say she received gunshots to her neck, face, hands and right leg. She was reportedly shot by a man on a motorcycle while she was in her car. was shot multiple times outside her home in Texas Square, Georgetown.

CCTV footage shows a lone gunman walking briskly towards Lola’s white Mercedes-Benz before opening fire.

“I was inside at home when I hear gunshots and run out to see was what, only to see me sister lying in she car and blood, if you see blood, pouring out,” Lola’s brother told the Stabroek News newspaper.

She was rushed to the hospital where her condition is listed as stable.

The man reportedly added: “We rushed her here…I can’t tell you where all she was shot but she was shot in like her face, her side, I don’t know where else…blood, so much blood everywhere. She lost a lot of blood but she is a fighter.”

Lola Doll has built a large social media following over the years.

The police have not yet disclosed a possible motive for the attack.
