Cheflodeezy Teams Up With Marcy Chin For ‘Rough Sex’

US-based, Jamaican-born rapper Cheflodeezy is pumped about his latest collaboration. Rough Sex, featuring Marcy Chin.

“The response has been great, The people are saying the song has a nostalgic feel and vibe because of the beat we used. It was a great idea to do a remix for the song because of the success of the original with my hardcore fans on the Miami music scene,” Cheflodeezy said.

Visuals released for the remix racked up over 32,000 views since its release.

“We have great momentum now and we have more collaborations and more hot songs for the rest of 2024 and beyond. The fans are going to love a new song I have with Tommy Lee Sparta which will be released over the Summer,” he said.

Cheflodeezy last performed at a show at Club 24 in Miami in March. He has a number of club shows lined up for May as the Summer season kicks off in Miami and its environs.

Cheflodeezy is also bringing his fusion dancehall-rap sound to the Miami rap scene with his latest release, Drill Wit Ya Dawg.

He recently issued an open verse challenge on his Instagram account with the uptempo drill song.

“We’re going to put the actual winner of the Open Verse challenge on the song. Miami likes fast, uptempo songs, drill is huge in New York, it was all you could hear in New York last year, drill is big in the UK, so we’re expecting Drill Wit Ya Dawg to do well in the club and street scene here in Miami,” Cheflodeezy said.

Drill rap originated in southside Chicago around 2011. Some pioneers of drill rap were Chief Keef, Lil Reese, Lil Durk and more. UK drill is a subgenre of drill music and road rap that originated in the South London district of Brixton from 2012 onwards, and adopted slangs from Jamaican patois with influences from cockney, and more recently Arabic, the US and West Africa.

Born in Jamaica, he migrated to live in the US. Cheflodeezy believes his unique cultural heritage will help to establish him alongside other up-and-coming rappers like Bossman Dlow.

“It’s going great getting a lot of support from like minded artists. A lot of younger artists are hopping on the beat as well, people are beginning to notice it,” he said.

He has recorded several songs for a dancehall album that he has dubbed ‘Teddy Brukshut’ in deference to the popular character from the Shottas movie, while completing a rap album dubbed ‘David Ruffin’, a nod to the American soul singer known for his work as the lead singer of the Temptations.

“Teddy Brukshut is one of my favourite characters from the Shottas movie, a real OG, and the singer David Ruffin went through a lot of personal tribulations so I identify with his journey as a creative being and black man in America,” Cheflodeezy explained.

He inked a recording deal with Miami-based indie label Artekal Music, and after a string of impressive bangers , producers from all over the world began sending beats his way. Now he is ready to establish himself as one of the genre’s top talents.

“I am going to take this all the way to the top, repping both Miami and Jamaica, creating a unique fusion between dancehall and rap,” Cheflodeezy said.
